Locker Room Material

Well MSU and the media don't think too highly of BG. I would post this all over the locker room.

Saturday, Sept. 2: vs. Bowling Green at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing. The Falcons are not a good team. Even though they won their final three games of 2016, they lost eight of the first nine, including 77-10 to Ohio State in the opener. Mike Jinks enters his second season as head coach.

Where is this from? I think someone should send Coach Jinks an email.

Also, do they not know that they had a horrible season, as well? They went 3-9...

That was the take from the Detroit Free Press, not a quote or attributed to MSU in any way - also, it's accurate and heck, a lot worse has been written here.

I'm sure Dantonio and his merry band of rapists think they'll have an easy time of it. I wonder if they'll have enough players left in the program to field a team

I could not pick a better team than MSU to start a potential turnaround season. 1, it is quite apparent that Narduzzi, not Dantonio, is the genius behind MSU's rise. 2, since the Alabama blowout, MSU has been in freefall. Bad season last year and off field trouble that would have been ESPN headlines if not for Baylor.
I could see MSU being a train wreck when we play them. If our team really takes big strides and is focused, we could have a great start to a turnaround season.

Agree. CMU came to MSU in 2009 and pulled off the upset. The current MSU program is similar to that 2009 team in that....they ARE NOT very good. They need another two years before they actually can get back to where the were in 2013. I really do feel that BG has chance to make this one close.

Even a competitive loss can be a springboard to a good season. We hung tight with Florida in 2012. That game was a preview of a physical team with a top notch defense. Last year's humiliating beatdown to start the season soured the fans and prepared everyone for a bad season.
And of course remember ten years ago. Coming off a dreadful 4-8 season, we started at Minnesota and pulled the upset. That established the tone for a turnaround season.

I really can't argue with that assessment so I really can't get mad at the author...

I'm not nearly that sanguine about our future...Jinks is smart and he seems to recruit well. I think both he and Huger are doing an excellent job building their respective programs. I think we're going to be in the thick of that MAC east title chase (love that cliche) again this year
