He played 41% of STs snaps (2nd in the group) and 19% of snaps from scrimmage last year (4th in the group). They signed Brandon Marshall but he replaces Victor Cruz. While I still doubt he is released because they didn't draft anyone at the position this certainly doesn't help him.

Sterling Shepard out with ankle injury. Likely means Lewis has a major role.

He also had all charges dropped a couple of weeks back. I doubt any punishment will come of it. Although, knowing the NFL, he'll be suspended for 12 games.

Shepard just has an ankle sprain. He's not going to miss any regular season games. ODB, Marshall, Shepard, Lewis/King

OBJ also got injured last night but wasn't a good night for Lewis. Targeted 4 times but only made 1 catch. Even with the injuries to 2 of their WR it's going to be hard for Lewis to make the roster.

I think you are reading the situation wrong. The Giants really like Lewis and think he has a future with them. He's currently second on their depth chart behind Brandon Marshall at one WR spot. He's shown enough at camp to stick again this year. He didn't have a chance to make the catch in his other three targets last night. I think he will be fine with the Giants this year.

He's an incumbent so he's knows the system and he's a second year UDFA so he's still pretty cheap. There's less than a $100k savings to dump him for another rookie UDFA..years 3 and 4, he get's a little more expensive to keep vs a rookie. I'm betting he sticks this year but will have to makes some strides to stick beyond that
