According to @BG_Football, we have added the Liberty University Flames to the 2020 and 2023 non-conference schedules. The 2020 contest will be held in Bowling Green, while the 2023 game will be an away contest.

The 2020 non-conference slate now has us visiting Ohio State on 9/5, visiting Illinois on 9/19, and hosting Liberty on 10/3.

The 2023 contest is the first to be scheduled for our non-conference slate that year, and it will take place on 9/2.

We are traveling to Liberty? This has to be a financial decision. No other reason for us to travel to an FCS school.

No, Liberty will be moving up to the FBS. They announced it about a year or so ago and I believe they will be in the FBS in 2019. Right now they plan to move up as an independent. I actually like this addition to the future schedule after all of the heavyweights we have scheduled for years to come. Liberty also did a recent stadium expansion and renovation and it turned out very nice.

Hadn't heard about that. Well, then this is a good home and home. I hope we beat them both times.

And Liberty's stadiums isn't even the most impressive of the FCS stadiums in Virginia, take a look at how JMU's recent expansion/renovation turned out (aside from the one old grandstand the rest of the facility looks like a Power Five venue):

Among the schools that have agreed to play games at Liberty are Syracuse, Buffalo, New Mexico, Southern Mississippi, Army, Marshall, Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Liberty just beat Baylor in Waco. And JMU manhandled East Carolina in Greenville.

If we ever decide to add a school, I would welcome James Madison.

I've been a proponent of Marshall and WKU for a while. I'd gladly take JMU if they were interested.

No to Marshall. They screwed the MAC too many times. WKU I would take.
