According to John Wagner on Twitter, Junior DB Jamari Bozeman is out for at least the season opener at Michigan State, and his status for 2017 is actually in doubt. Thoughts?

This REALLY sucks...he is probably our best DB. Gonna be up to Tavarus Wade and Ben Hale. Man, we cannot afford injuries like this.

Not good at all. I have a feeling he's going to be out for the year because the news on this injury keeps getting worse and worse. When it first happened a couple weeks ago Jinks said it was nothing serious. But every few days since then it gone from him missing the opener, to now missing the non-conference games, to now possibly missing the year.

At least he still has a redshirt to burn. #positivethoughts

I'm just guessing here, but based on it being described as an upper leg injury as one that began as not being thought of as serious to now possibly being season ending, I'm thinking it might be a hamstring injury.

Jinks said this morning he'd be surprised if Bozeman plays at all this season.

Very disappointing news, and his playing status certainly deteriorated quickly the last two weeks.

John Wagner just updated this situation:
Jamari Bozeman will have season ending surgery this week.
The good news is that we know now, and we can go forward the rest of the season without wondering if we will get him back. His backups will get a large amount of reps, and when he returns next year (with 2 more years of eligibility remaining) we will have more depth and experience overall at the position. While it stinks for this season, it could be good for our future.
Other injury updates:
LG Taborn - shoulder injury, out Saturday, not considered to be season-ending at all
LB Banks - wearing a walking boot at practice, out Saturday, could be back next week
