Concessions problems

For yrs. I've heard people bitch about the lousy concession situation but never felt affected so it didn't bother me . Moose came on video board with pledge to make our game experience a good one and to let them know of problems.

At halftime, the chill was starting to set in, so I went down to buy a ...HOT CHOCALATE! Sorry, we don't have any, at ANY stand on W. side of stadium. (I'm assuming the same on the East side). Weather was beautiful all day( great if we'd had a 3pm game time- right Marta?). But we also knew temperatures were supposed to be in 50s as sun went down. And not enough hot choc. To last till halftime?
Hope SOMEONE from athletic dept sees this, and appropriate "adjustments " get made by HC!

I went down right at the end of halftime to get a hotdog. There was only ONE person in line and he had evidently payed with a credit card. I stood there for 3-4 minutes while 3 or 4 workers were gathered around the little hand held credit card machine that they must have been having trouble with or were learning how to use it.
After standing there for a time and not one of the 6 or 7
people said a thing to me, like can I help you or anything close, so I just headed back to my seat
“Dogless”. I have no idea who is suppose to be managing these stands, but NO one is. ](*,)

And just think how bad it would be if more than 5000 showed up. We need food trucks!!! Gyros, Tacos, Loaded Nachos, Mr. Spots, Campus Polleyes Breadsticks. Someone call Chick-fil-a catering.

Interesting that you mentioned chick fil a. Some of my friends and I pick out a hs game of week to go to. Last 2 schools have chick fil a sandwiches available. And they kept them HOT, wrapped in foil, handed out quickly. Only thing we had to do was add the pickles if we wanted them. Point is, it's a great idea and easy to serve.

BG's mission statement is "It's good enough, what do you expect us to do?"

This applies both on the field and off the field. I have no doubt Moose is working to change things, but it's been going on since 2006 and change doesn't happen overnight.

I volunteer at the concession stands in Bedford...I think we're outdrawing BG this year (we're 5-1!) and we have no problems keeping up with the lines...and we have pizza!!!

Come on up for homecoming on the 13th against the Lincoln (get this) Dreadnaughts...

Went to north end stand on the East side, asked for a lemonade and was told they did not have it. I said the other stand does. Thier response was "we don't." They didn't care. Went to the middle stand and ordered a hot chocolate and lemonade. They said we don't have hot chocolate. It is at the two other stands. Got the lemonade for my kid and a pretzel for me, plus the outrageously priced cheese cup.

If the concessions sold only saltines and water, they would somehow screw that up. The game day experience at BG blows. Starting to wonder why I am still buying season tickets. Starting to wonder why I am wasting time watch JV football. Hell, if I didn't have to go to four different stands to get what I wanted, I wouldn't care about the crappy product on the field. I'd drink my hot chocolate and laugh at the ineptitude.

It's the worst collegiate game experience in FBS. Nothing changes from year to year. The product on the field the last two years makes it more intolerable. The same people have been in the athletic department for several years (excluding Moose) so it definitely seems like a personnel problem more than anything else. It's a miserable experience.

It is far more appalling to me that we have to have these threads every year than the current state of the team. Every year it's the same crap: the game day experience at BG is so bad it almost feels like a chore to go to a game. It's why I dropped my season tickets and only occasionally visit.

I still have season tix for hoops, but it's not much better there. Where they funnel you past 3 empty parking lots so you can park on the other side of alumni drive for your $5. Parking passes only in those other lots, folks. That's fine for me as a season ticket holder but way to screw over your few single game goers.

Concessions at the stroh are awful as well. They even ruined the cookies after Mr. Frack passed away. At least at the stroh I've not had the issues as much with the slow service, being out of stuff, etc. Of course my side of the arena is basically just nachos, dogs, and popcorn.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why BG cannot figure out how to run an event/gameday experience. We've all had these same issues for as long as I can remember, so I know these aren't simply sour grapes for the team sucking. We have complained about this just as much when we're winning.

It's to the point where I'm beyond even thinking they don't know how to fix it. They've had ample time to find others who could. They just don't care.

Of course I'll still keep buying my hoops tickets so maybe I'm the problem...
