Of the 4 announced transfers thus far, this is the only one that surprised me. With Cleveland and Wilson graduating and Domer recovering from his second injury, I would have thought Stephens would get significant playing time next year even with Clair the presumed #1 option.
I don't like to see anyone transfer away from BG but I usually understand it. This one surprised me. At the beginning of 2017 we have 5 OLine leave the team and I think that hurt us. Stephens leaving will hurt as well. On the other hand, maybe he knows Domer is going to be fully recovered and will be the #2 back behind Clair. Or maybe Denny is pushing him hard. Gotta find the silver lining somewhere.
