Early signing period is here

Post by jpfalcon09 »

Recruits can submit their NLIs from Dec. 20-22 if they choose. Updates can be posted here throughout the rest of the week.

Perce, Frye and Lee are new commitments. Frye is a 3* per 24/7. Still waiting on DT Henderson from Ohio who had a bunch of other offers including some Power 5, OT Barrow, and the K Needham who verbaled yesterday.

Jinks said that they're still waiting on maybe two more signees so we'll see how everything shakes out.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Nice, I was waiting on his to come in. With the number of P5 offers he had, this was one I could have seen being pulled away at the last minute. Always nice to beat out programs from the ACC, Big Ten, and American conferences for a recruit.

I would have to think a) having a great defensive coordinator b) having a competent defensive coordinator c) having an actual defensive coordinator and d) having a defensive coordinator who knows Ohio has got to help recruiting tremendously going forward. Good looking class, about 5 or 6 spots left for finishing touches. Early signing definitely benefited us this year.

Thanks for the laugh...and oh how true.

I did notice that the list has one glaring weakness: defensive line. I'm hoping that gets rectified with the next signing period. I admittedly do not know if the current roster already has enough DE and DT, that it wasn't necessary to sign a few more; but if it does, that is concerning because of the class imbalance. In any event, here is a complete list from the BG athletic site, for those interested. It looks like a very solid group so far:

Caleb Biggers DB
5-11, 184
Prince Frederick, Md. / Calvert Hall College

Deandre Fitz-Henley LB
5-11, 230
Clearwater, Fla. / Clearwater Central Catholic

Rico Frye RB
5-9, 210
Cartersville, Ga. / Cartersville

James Harris Jr. DB
6-1, 165
Pompano Beach, Fla. / Blanche Ely

Jevon Henderson DL
6-3, 265
Centerville, Ohio / Centerville

Antwuan Johnson LB
6-1, 230
Dayton, Ohio / Wayne

James Lachey TE
6-4, 230
Columbus, Ohio / Grandview Heights

Cooper Lee P
6-1, 195
De Soto, Kansas / De Soto / Coffeyville CC

Noah Massey WR
6-3, 215
Houston, Texas / Spring Westfield

Joe Maxwell OL
6-5, 290
Florence, Ala. / Florence

John O’Brian OL
6-5, 240
Charlotte, Mich. / Charlotte

Julian Ortega-Jones WR

At the media availability, Jinks was asked why no defensive linemen were signed. He said he felt like BGSU had enough redshirted talent where this didn't need to be a priority.
