Two Redding got some nice things said about him during practice for the Tropical Bowl. I haven't heard or seen anything since. Anyone know if they've actually played this game since?

I'm guessing you're right, because he got high praise as outstanding at 1st practice . Kind of a pathetic turnout , maybe had more NFL folks and families than casual fans.

To be fair, this thread is the first time I've ever heard of the Tropical Bowl. I don't know where it is played outside of someplace tropical. Is it similar to the Senior Bowl? If it's not well known, it's not going to be well attended.

This was the first year I had heard of it, as well. I think it's similar to the Senior Bowl, NFLPA Bowl, and East-West Shrine game in that it is a place to showcase talent in front of scouts in order to help their stock before the combine/draft process.

This is the first time I've ever heard of it as well. And the draft is my favorite part of following football...I routinely read the practice reports for the Senior Bowl, and others to keep tabs on draft prospects.

Not surprised at all the turnout was so poor given that most of us had never heard of.

Also, FWIW, it is quite common for there to be very few NFL people that actually stick around for the games for the big ones, even. The practices, meeting with the players, etc are far more valuable than how these players actually play in a meaningless scrimmage with unfamiliar teammates.

Thanks to Google, I now know this game is played in Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium, which seats about 9,600. The stadium also hosts football games for Bethune-Cookman.

Note that the temps were in the 40's for this game. Very Un-Florida like. Probably some effect on crowd as well.

This is the THIRD Tropical bowl game... bad weather or not, 500 folks in attendance is pretty pathetic. Thought there'd be a write up on Teo by now.

"FRIGID"? 40s and 50s ? WOW!!! I know it's been awhile since you spent some time in Ohio, but "around here" we'd call that a heat wave!

Seriously, was there any mention in local papers about the game? I DID see his name mentioned twice in the play by play breakdown with two incomplete passes. Yet he wasn't mentioned as a participant in the game. After the nice publicity he got after 1st practice, I'd have expected him to be a prime target.
