I'm with pretty much everyone else in that redshirting Turner would be great, but if Omar gets hurt, I want Turner in there. I thought he looked alot better than Washington and Johnson in the scrimmage and gives us the best chance of winning among the three.

From what I heard it wasn't a bad rumor. There was some concern due to some low ACT scores. He was on the bubble but took the test over and got better scores which qualified him. He is Corey's roommate, I met him this past weekend and I tell you he seems like a great kid. Looks really good out there in practice too.

Cole Magner can play QB too. I love it. It would be fun to see for a series in the SEMO or Ohio game or something

Coach Brandon says he's the DE QB....Dire Emergency Quarterback.

I hope we can pull off red-shirting Turner, but if we need him, I'm glad he's looking to be ready.

Two years ago Cole played QB for a series of plays in which Harris was moved to wide receiver.

He played most of the 4th qtr at QB against Ball State in 2002 when Harris left the game with to rest a knee injury also...are we thinking of the same game, redskin?

Coach talked about him playing a lot in a game against Akron and running for 96 yards.

I remember listening to that game on the net. Here are Cole's stats:

Rushing 14-86
Passing 2-3-0-13

Harris was hurt and I think Sahm may have been slightly injured, but I'm not sure about Sahm since he was 11-19-0-120.

The final was BG 16 Akron 11

Frye's stats as a freshman
Frye 13-31-3-175

That game at Rubber Bowl was a gritty win by the Falcons...good crowd that night.

Cole stiff armed some UA defender on a 38 yrd. TD that got BG back in the game at 9-7. Great run jumpstarted a lackluster effort by BG to that point. Then the big saftey to tie the game and Sahm hitting Redd on a short TD pass with 4-5 min left to take a 16-9 lead.
BG didn't play well in the Rubber Bowl in the later 90's and I was very glad to get that win. Plus, a 10 min ride home!! :partyman:

GO FALCONS!!!
