Brandon Perce was the star of the day. That's all I know.

Oh wait, April Fools is tomorrow.

First scrimmage,
Not much happening other then what I read about the scrimmage. A few things that I noticed as disturbing.
1. All the wide receivers were injured or did play.
2. Running backs injured
3. Backup QB???
4. DB did they also sit out?
5. Offensive line? Do we have any linemen playing at 300 lbs or better?
6. Defensive line? Do we have any 300 lbs linemen playing?

Maybe we need to take a look at our strength coach and put some weight on these players.

On the OL, we have 7 guys that play at 300 lbs or better (Bright, Nevernov, Kramer, Downs, Taborn, Tanner and Kurtz)

On the DL, we have 1 guy over 300 (May) and 4 others close to 300 (Rouse, Junior, Lautanen and Croslen)

If that's the case , then I'm really excited about our team this year. I'm looking at six to eight wins! We have a top tier running back, stronger OL, bigger DL and all of our DB's returning. I believe we should win the east and I cannot wait. Spring game means nothing to me. Just need to see what we have at the WR position.

I did not see J. Wyatt on the roster, anyone know what happened to him. I believe he was listed as 6'3 nice size.

Looks like Wyatt bounced back to JUCO Navarro College

Don't read too much into spring injuries. They keep players out for papercuts ...

If you're playing uptempo offense...it's hard to have a bunch of guys at 300+ unless you want to run guys in every few plays. Trust me...hauling round 300lbs is no easy task

Yeah filp, that is some serious weight, but that is what the stronger teams are putting out their. Toledo had 4 on offense and 3 on def. Big Ten teams are starting almost 300 across on both side of the ball. Football starts with your LINE on both sides of the ball! The def. line helps the DB and makes their job easier. Offense line opens the hold for the RB and gives our QB time to find open receivers. Limits the Interceptions.

That's part of the reason we fell so far between coaches. Clawson wanted combo road graters/pass blockers. Babers wanted smaller more agile guys with more stamina. Jinks, even when he thought he could run an air raid offense, wanted some bigger guys and late in his first season committed to it in the next recruiting cycle. The scheme changes added to the number of OLine transfers after Babers left.
