He's been placed on Administrative leave in the wake of the spousal abuse scandal emerging at OSU

Was just about to say something. Regardless of your feelings about OSU, this is a former BG coach whom I respect for how he turned us around and brought a proper competitive spirit. As a BG alum and a fan of the sport, this is a concerning story, as no matter my love for BG and the sport, I care more about morals. Like always, innocent until proven guilty and let the facts come out before coming to a conclusion.

If these allegations are true, I don't want him here.

I'm with you in that boat. Right and wrong trumps wins and losses. But the key word is "if". Let's be patient and allow the investigation to run its course before sentencing him in the court of public opinion.

I think you still hold a grudge for the way he left. I think he's the greatest coach in his generation and possibly of all time. A lot seemed to be going on under his nose at FL...you could try to write that off as "kids will be kids". This is an adult...on his staff. We're not talking about knowing what 105 kids are doing all year, we're talking about what one of the 20 or so adults you manage year round is doing...we're talking about turning a blind eye to spousal abuse.
So...I am in agreement with you 100%. If true...I don't want him anywhere near here, in an official or unofficial (golf outing) capacity

So Zach Smith was a walk-on at BG while Urban was coach here? When Ohio State let that a$$hole go a few weeks ago, I read something that said he was on Urban's team at BG, but I looked at his bio, saw he had graduated from Florida & assumed it was a mistake. Today, though, I've seen it mentioned in a few other places that he (Smith) was at BG for at least a brief period.

Bowling Green was actually mentioned on Golic and Wingo. Zach was an unpaid intern at BGSU under Meyer. Zach is also the grandson of Earl Bruce for those who didn't know

It is also being reported by several media outlets that this is not a Title IX issue so Ohio State cannot fire Urban because of that. It is however a moral and ethical issue. And if all the tweets are true then Urban was aware of this problem in 2015. My question is if Zach Smith abused his wife back in 2009 while witg the University of Florida with Meyer why would Urban even hire this guy at Ohio State. The reason, because he was Earl Bruce's grandson. Now if you recall a few months ago when Rick Pitino was fired at Louisville Urban said back then that if you are a coach and you lie you should be terminated immediately. How ironic it will be when Urban is fired for lying.
And one last thing. If Urban is let go within the next few days there is still time for the Browns to hire him.

If the quick google search I just did is correct, Zach Smith was born in 1984, which would make him 18 years old in 2002, Urban's last year here. I think he was a walk-on at BGSU, and then an intern/assistant/whatever at Florida. But, as is often the case, I could be wrong. In any event, he's a poor excuse for a human being & I'm embarrassed that he was ever affiliated with BGSU in any way.

New information comes out about this is Zach Smith. In 2009 he assaulted his wife who was 9 weeks pregnant at the time. He came home in 2009 drunk one evening. Although he was married and his wife was pregnant he was on a date with get this, Urban Meyer's secretary. While drunk he referred to the secretary as babe and called his wife a b****. Then later that evening he assaulted his wife.

James O'Keefe tweeted some undercover videos from discussions with former players at Florida. At worse....the reinforce the notion that Urbie is a guy who's subject to violent outburst who is also callous and indifferent with respect to the suffering of others.
From what I recall from Dr Kumler's abnormal psych class, he's the classic narcissist

Narcissists typically get where they are though by having these traits.
As for Urban, he's certainly in trouble. Tressel was canned for far less worse and the optics here look awful on both Urban and the university. I'll never understand why people will choose to cover and protect others. Had Urban reported this to the school, he'd have washed his hands of it.

There was nothing in that undercover video that I wouldn't have expected to see in a Last Chance U episode ...

Here's a question I've yet to hear an answer to. If this crap started in 09, why was the wife still with him? If the wife didn't press charges, what was Urban supposed to do? The guy was obviously on the road a lot, so it's not like she didn't have the chance to leave him. She chose to stay, and is now trying to drag Urban down? Why does this story not make sense being an actual story?
Sorry, that's more than one question. I only ask because it's been a subject of discussion on the radio the last 2 days, and it's only ever should he stay or be fired, never much detail.
