Loeffler status?

I’ve not seen nor heard anything on this, but is Loeffler staying HERE or does he have to stay w/ BC as they get ready for bowl game?
This might affect a couple of other coaches too, if their current teams have postseason obligations.
This would affect recruiting as signing day is a week away.

He's definitely been recruiting for BG but haven't heard if he's coaching bowl game for BC

I was told that the athletic department is operating under the assumption that he will coach BC during their bowl game.

Correct. BC's game is during the recruiting dead period so it likely does minimal harm. He and the staff have been out hard the past two weeks establishing relationships and getting some offers out there.

Jinks said in retrospect after everything went wrong in year 1 that he should not have coached Texas Tech's bowl game so that he could be fully committed to BG. It is not just recruiting. It is all the administrative stuff. It is being there if your players need something over holiday break. It is establishing yourself and your family in your new community. And coaching in a bowl game takes a lot of preparation. It is more than the four hours of the game. It is meetings, game plan, travel, practice, and more. That is time away from responsibilities to your new job.
I don't like the reality of the situation. If I had my way, there would be a rule that you cannot contact a coach until his entire season is done, including the bowl game. That would push coach change craziness back by a month. But the reality is that we hire coaches who still have a game to play. The coach needs to say goodbye to the old program and commit himself fully to the new program. Otherwise he is just not fully dedicated.
I don't like how it is. But because it is how it is, I hope Loeffler is at BG and not BC.

It will help immensely to have Pelini here, I would guess.

The reason I asked is exactly what Mark alluded to. He’s “still “ technically the OC at BC . As such there’s game plans to prepare, personnel decisions to make. Unless your head coach is pretty flexible, this has to create a LOT of stress on someone trying to do TWO jobs with TWO schools. Perhaps the fact that he’s hired guys w/ so much experience, it will minimize this.

He should be at BG full time. Spin it however you want, but he should be focusing 100% on BG. It’s not like Boston College is even in one of the bigger bowls. Jinks did the same thing and I said it was a bad sign back at the time.

I find it ridiculous that our AD would even allow him to think about coaching in the bowl game.

Jinks wasn't working with an early signing period so recruiting wasn't largely done with when he took over and yes...I imagine Pelini can assist players if they need anything

Yeah, I wish he was around, too.

I guess the positive that comes from it is hopefully the cameras showing him on the sideline/in the booth and talking about how he has been hired at Bowling Green. It could be positive exposure for the program.

Anyone recall if dead period was same back before early signing period? With dead period 12/17-1/10 coming up, I think Loeffler could handle both duties. Him and the staff definitely have been recruiting their butts off so to me that is all that matters.
