These are the offenses a UT fan spent considerable amount of time researching traffic offenses by each BG football player over the past few years lol .... from the ncaabbs UT board:
Public domain information obtained in a search from the Bowling Green, Ohio Municipal Court site (http://www.bgcourt.org). Roll on you BG Warriors:
On 10/15/04 a warrant was issued on Charles Sharon. They took 25 head hairs, swabbed the inside of his mouth, took blood, and did finger and palm prints for evidence in a robbery case. He has been arraigned and a court date is pending. Obviously there is something to this whole pizza thing. He has been allowed to stay on the team and play. He played in their homecoming game the day after the execution of the search warrant, having 5 catches for 88 yards and a TD.
WR Steve Sanders has 7 traffic violations in the last 3 years.
LB Jovon Burkes had 2 charges of disorderly conduct and 1 charge of resisting arrest, although he was found not guilty on all 3 charges. He also had 2 traffic violations in the past year.
DB Melvin Cole has an unpaid speeding ticket from 5/27/04 and was charged with Criminal trespass and disorderly conduct on 6/06/04. He owes the courts $160 still and it is considered delinquent.
DB Keon Newson has 4 traffic violations in the last 3 years. On 1/08/05, a little over a ten days ago, he was arraigned for 2 traffic violations and charged with fleeing the scene.
DB John Nicholson was found guilty of disorderly conduct from back in 2002, his freshman season.
DB Tim Arnold has 4 traffic violations in the last 2 years and he has been charged with disorderly conduct with a finding of "guilty by referee".
Kicker Shaun Suisham has 1 traffic violation, an underage alcohol offense, and assault and burglary. The Assault and Burglary was in 2001 and he still owes $43 from the burglary charge, which was waived with a finding of "Bound Over".
LB John Haneline was charged for an underage alcohol offense on 9/05/04, the day after the Oklahoma game. He was found not guilty with a stipulation that he has to complete the Alcohol Diversion Program.
DE Devon Parks was charged with disorderly conduct and posession of criminal tools on 6/11/03. He was found guilty of disorderly conduct, but found not guilty of the posession charge.
OL Edmond Massey has 2 traffic violations in the last year. Also charged for criminal tresspassing, which was changed to disorderly conduct for an incident that happened on 6/06/04. He was found to be guilty and still owes the courts $40 from this charge.
DL Mike Thaler was charged with disorderly conduct on 12/15/02. The finding was "Waiver Guilty". .
OL Scott Mruczkowski was charged for auto trespass on 2/02/02 and was found guilty.
DE Ricky Walston has 10 traffic tickets in the last year. He still owes the court over $500 in unpaid tickets and I believe his license was revoked by the BMV.
Also, nearly 70% of the players on their football roster have received at least 1 traffic violation, mostly speeding or driving with expired plates, while on the football team.
Guys that are no longer on the team (probably because of what they did):
Jimmy Carson - Several traffic violations. Charged with disorderly conduct a couple of times. In July of 2004 a warrant was exercised that had them take 25 head hairs, swab his mouth, take blood, and imprints of fingers and palms for evidence on a robbery case. He has been arraigned and is waiting trial. He is no longer on the team, but Charles Sharon is. Some BG fans have said that Carson allegedly pulled a gun, but there is nothing listed on the docket of his charges about a gun.
Matt Leininger - Disorderly conduct and underage drinking charges on 8/04/2004. Found guilty of disorderly conduct and the underage drinking was dismissed. He was removed from the team.
