Well, it's officially "game week". Haven't seen a depth chart released yet but if I had to guess, Wade takes the first snap on Thursday. Excited to see live football again and I'm confident we'll see better effort and discipline. Good to open with an FCS program with Loeffler's hiring to work out some kinks. I hope to see consistent effort and more discipline. BG is a 21.5 point favorite, I think they cover but barely.
BG 42
Morgan State 17

I'm hoping we win by a decent enough margin. I don't expect a full on blowout (we wont be on the dishing end of a 77-10 score) but I also think we *should* look like the better team. I'm thinking more in the 35-21 range, but I would like if we had a few more scores.
There will be some growing pains, no doubt about that. But it's time to put the foot on the gas and get rolling.
Beat the Bears.

6 days! If I had a guess as well, Wade starts Thursday. Anyone know if Loeffler treating today like a Sunday or they practicing everyday?

Two first time coaches. We should have much more talent and depth. I also think Loeffler will play it a bit conservatively just to see what he's got and be happy with a W.
31-13.

Hasn't been updated in awhile. Hargrove, Veasley, Taborn still listed.

My guess: Bowling Green 33, Morgan State 21. Falcons score a touchdown late to put it out of reach.

Quick look at Morgan State. They had an interim coach last year so Wheatley will be the third coach in three years. He was in consideration for the WMU job a couple years ago.
Morgan State played three FBS teams last year and got flattened in all of them, including Akron. They did beat NC A&T though, who is a good program and beat East Carolina last year.
The offense in 2018 was not scary. 1812 rushing, 1646 passing, season totals (11 games). Scored a total of 25 TDs.
Defense is comparatively far better. Considering they lost to three FBS teams by a combined 163-10, giving up an average of 360 yards a game is pretty good. They won some ugly low scoring affairs - 9-0, 18-11, 16-13. The interim coach in 2018 was the 2016-17 defensive coordinator.
Tyrone Wheatley is a career RB coach, so he will probably try to get the run game going. I know our defensive line is going to be a bit thin. Still I should think we can handle these guys. Most FCS teams have some skill players but are significantly weaker than FBS on the lines.
Our offense should be fine, perhaps great, and probably not at all flashy, just efficient. I expect by giving up a rather low number of yards that Morgan State is disciplined on defense. So look to see our line overpower their defensive line with the run rather than get too cute and pass everywhere. Or at least that's my hope.
I'm hoping for a comfortable win and a first look at things to come.

This is the first season I’ve been excited for Falcon football since 2015. From the very beginning I had a bad vibe from Jinks. I’ve had the occasion to meet and listen to coach Loeffler multiple times and his vibe is a 180! I see him as an excellent t mix between Clawson and Meyer. His passion and intensity is akin to Meyer but I suspect his play calling philosophy is closer to Clawson. His interest in utilizing the TE position is intriguing to me. I’ve always felt like that mismatch that a big, athletic TE creates is an underused element in the more modern game. Clawson saw its benefit. In my humble opinion Loeffler is the right guy at the right time and this ship is going to be righted sooner rather than later. I’m confident he will get the very, very best out of every player. We have had so little to be optimistic about the last 3 seasons so I’m just happy to feel this way again about BG football.

BG hasn’t had a winning record at any point in a season since 2015....that’s 4 frickin’ years ago! I don’t care if we beat Morgan State by 1 or 51 just as long as we simply win. This is our best shot at a win and could be one of only a few we’ll probably even have a shot at in this season. Just win...
