Loy Starting
No waiver ruling. Loy is starting tonight! Talons up!
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Re: Loy Starting
It's laughable that so many P5 transfers get to play right away while McDonald has to potentially burn another year of eligibility.
Simply pathetic...

Re: Loy Starting
And how many rulings could remain? What do they have? an intern on it? How about bringing lunch in and grinding through to finish!!. It IS the start of the season!! Apathy in all walks of life bothers me; but come on, people’s careers and jobs are affected by these rulings. Take your F-ing time??!?Flipper wrote:It's laughable that so many P5 transfers get to play right away while McDonald has to potentially burn another year of eligibility.

Re: Loy Starting
I've figured out the transfer portal. It is a coin toss. And if you pay the NCAA enough, you can bring your own weighted coin.

Best of luck to the new Falcon QB Grant Loy. May he be the first QB to start 1-0 since James Knapke in 2014.

Re: Loy Starting
Malik Willis - Auburn to Liberty
Shawn Robinson - TCU - Missouri
Colson Yankoff - Washington - UCLA
Braxton Burmeister - Oregon - VT
All denied.
Matt Baldwin - Ohio St - TCU
Denied waiver. Filed appeal.
Seems to be, NCAA being slightly tougher since Martell.

Jarret Doege - BG to WV
Approved.
Approved.
Re: Loy Starting
Well, here we go. He's going to need to be able to throw the ball, and I hope he can.

All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
Re: Loy Starting
It may hurt BG this year, but the MAC doesn’t want any part of a one time transfer without penalty. P5 Schools would pluck any talent we had almost immediately.
Re: Loy Starting
Honestly we won't learn much about Loy for a while. Barring anything unusual, we will be 1-1 after two weeks in multi possession games where the play of Loy is not the differentiation. We probably won't learn too much about Loy, or for that matter the whole team, until Louisiana Tech.

Re: Loy Starting
Very, very good point - hard to judge the team off of the first 2 games, which will be polar opposites. However, I almost disagree because I think LA Tech probably wipes us out pretty bad, even though it's Homecoming. They've just got a really solid program, with records of 9-5, 9-4, 9-5, 7-6, and 8-5 since 2014, all under their current coach.MarkL wrote:Honestly we won't learn much about Loy for a while. I would argue it would be the following week that we actually see how this team functions. Kent State is a team that is right at our level (just barely "above" us, sneaking out a 35-28 win at the Doyt last year). I think if he leads the team to victory at that point, then we know what we have. Until then, I'll be looking at things like his apparent command of the team around him and his ability to make good decisions. If he makes mistakes tonight and throws multiple picks, we might be in trouble this year. We're going to need him to be pretty solid, because I have a feeling we may be in more close games than last year, when we lost 2 games by one score and won another in that same way.
I will also say, I won't be shocked if we see Wade tonight in some capacity. Not necessarily because Loy will be bad (I'm hoping for the opposite), but because I think Loeffler is still feeling out what he has on the roster.

To state the obvious: So far, we've *only* seen Wade. He has missed some receivers but that might work itself out with time. ESPN crew said they do expect to see Loy as well.mbenecke wrote:I won't be shocked if we see Wade tonight in some capacity.
Re: Loy Starting
One of his overthrows (the one with Morris going back over the middle) was the result of being a lefty and rolling right. Hard to throw across your body, even when it's to a guy as big and strong as Morris.Schadenfreude wrote:To state the obvious: So far, we've *only* seen Wade.
