Notre Dame

Tickets arrived this weekend...Section 14, Row 30. Hope to see some familiar faces there. Obviously the outcome of the game is not going to be pretty, but getting a chance to soak in a game there and take some family, it should be a good time regardless.

Agreed... it’s one ( of many I guess) schools I’ve never had a chance to visit, either as a former guidance counselor or BG alum/fan. My daughter and her husband are going with us, and we’re looking to take in the whole “Irish” atmosphere.
And hopefully seeing a more competitive Falcon team.

Hopefully, none of the insane fans and loudmouth parents make the trip. I’ve endured thug life screaming at the last games- Aimed at Loeffler..... if they only knew, if they only knew that their kids were ones that get their plays wrong EVERY DAY in practice, and grade out s€$tty every week, and that their kids were a big part of the problem. Coach is managing the games to make it through the season with 2 pedestrian QB’s. Imagine if he lets them get injured... Players win games. Period. We don’t have nearly enough good players. Lay off the coaches or don’t go.

It will be my wife and two kids, brother (also an alum) and his wife going. I still can't believe this match up is actually taking place.
Full confession that I have been a ND fan since I was 8. Now 45, I never dreamed I would have to choose between my school and my "team". Once the game was announced, I decided I MUST root for my school and will be decked out in orange!
For those of you going to Notre Dame for the first time, I promise you it will be an experience like none other when it comes to college football. I have been going to games in South Bend for over 20 years and it is special. Please take the time to enjoy the sites of the campus, the traditions and hospitality and respect that will be shown to you as the visiting team.
If anyone has any questions about the campus or game day experience, please let me know.

Thanks, I appreciate your offer of advice. I'm heading to the game with two friends and have a few questions.
We're arriving on Friday morning on Amtrak, and plan on visiting campus during the afternoon/evening.
Any suggestions on that? Also, looking for somewhere for dinner/sports-bar for Friday night. I'm not sure if other BG fans will be meeting up anywhere.
On Saturday, where do you suggest we park? I see there are free shuttles from downtown, and I figured we may do that. That way we'll be downtown after the game to get something to eat and drink.
Given that we won't have any tailgating supplies with us, what's the atmosphere like? Where does the tailgating happen? Are we likely to be invited to join in (like at LSU) or are fans a little more stand-offish (like Penn State)?

**If you are walking around campus Friday, you may want to check out Legends at Notre Dame. It's a sports bar on campus located outside the south end of the stadium. If too busy, there are other restaurants within walking distance from there. There is an alumni tailgate going on before the game, but i cannot find the email with the information.

**I guess if you are staying downtown, then that would be my suggestion. The main lot for people to park is White Field located north of campus. Parking here is $30 though. They provide shuttle service from the lot and will drop you off right at the library. If you wanted to walk it, it's not bad and you walk right through campus. There are several restaurants downtown with different types of food depending what you are looking for.

**Most major tailgating will take place at the south end of the stadium for season ticket holders. Right next to the Legends restaurant. I think you will be able to find someone that will invite you to join in, more heavy drinking going on there. You will also find others scattered about campus as well.

There's a Falcon get-together on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 at Corby's Irish Pub, 411 East LaSalle Ave.
Gameday tailgate at the Joyce Center 12:30 - 3:15.

Our seats are in section 116, Row 11. I'm surprised you are two sections over below the video board.

So I've seen people here with seats in sections 114, 116 and 118. Must have us spread out in those upper endzone sections.

We should have secured group tickets via ND. Lowers were $65 I believe.
Assuming those in 100 section paid $55?

I have been to at least 25 games at ND. It's an experience like no other. Fans are great, atmosphere is the best and even if your seats are up high, you have a great view. Parking close to the stadium is almost impossible unless you are a big donor. You can park out at what used to be called White Fields, a 10 minute walk north of campus. This is the only time I root against the Irish
I can't wait to go. Heading out Friday afternoon and have a hotel close by. PS: If you go into that beautiful church on campus to say a prayer for the Falcons, be 100% sure to take your hat off if you are wearing one.
