I don't remember this being posted. Old bando friend of mine sent this to me. Check out the non conference at the bottom of the page.

I think there is a chance this game may disappear from the schedule at some point.
No inside knowledge -- but look what happened with Louisiana State and Auburn.
This is a tough game for us, there isn't a return trip, and I seriously doubt Virginia Tech is offering the kind of guarantee that a top line program like Oklahoma can offer.

My thought was that there is just one game scheduled. I don't imagine this is too much of a lock since this was the first I had heard of us playing VT. Who knows? They may not have an appetite for anymore MAC schools after they are done devouring OU.
We played VT once during my undergrad tenure. A loss by 14 or something.
We played them again the year after I graduated and the score was 30-something to 14 or 16.
I believe those were the only two times we have played them, but I could be wrong.

Oh, I hope it doesn't go away... we could actually go see a BG football game!! It's still a couple-hour drive, but at least it's in the same state...

To clarify: A single game with Virginia Tech has been on our future schedule for a while.

How the frick does Ohio get VT to come to their place?? Ohio sucks. And in the next year our facilities are going to be better than theirs. Is it because Ohio sucks that VT can do this? No risk of losing? If that's the way they think the soft schedule could end up hurting them.
This is the stuff that ticks me off........We need to get some bigger names schools to come to the Doyt period.

It's either the suck factor you mention of Ohio or maybe the travel expenses. Ohio is a little closer to them than BG is.

OU is the flagship school.

OU is the flagship school.
Ohio is also the #2 school on the waiting list for the Big Eleven, right after UC

Don't forget that Ohio is going to break off and start their own conference. All because they have the highest paid basketball and football coaches!

That and anyone knows they can walk into Peden and come out with a win. The place goes desolate after halftime, and well the Bobkitties just aren't that good.

I'd love to make a road trip over to Blacksburg for that one. We've lost to Va Tech twice...21-7 in 1990 and 33-16 in 1993.
You're pretty good, RUIT!
