Where was all the outrage?
Where was all the outrage?
I just can't believe we didn't get a single tweet, protest or discussion for these actions from a former BGSU football player. Maybe too close to home. I'm sure they just missed it on Twitter.

Re: Where was all the outrage?
There were lots of tweets about it. And the football team even addressed the situation on twitter. Did you miss it?
That was July 1. Not a lot of protests on campus at the time because... nobody was on campus.

The football team addressed it? Where? I wouldn't expect them to protest. I just didn't see any outrage from the new found outrage police with the athletic department. Particularly BGSU Volleyball.

Re: Where was all the outrage?
He was thrown off the team last year. Probably no outrage because he wasn’t on the team.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: Where was all the outrage?
What was he thrown off the team for? Kidnapping, rape or something else?

It's like they didn't know who he was.

Re: Where was all the outrage?
If he was kicked off the team last year then why would they care if he committed crimes afterwards? It's a university issue if he's a student but the football program isn't going to care.guest44 wrote:It's like they didn't know who he was.

Re: Where was all the outrage?
The BGSU Football program recruited a player to Bowling Green who committed serious crimes. It seems like they should care. But, that form of caring doesn't make them look good. Therefore, they don't care. See how it works? No photo op in this.

Re: Where was all the outrage?
So they kick him off the team and.....what more can the do to him?
Can’t kick him off campus,
Can’t make him leave the city,
And can’t revoke constitutional rights.
As Urban Myers pointed out in a recent interview you have a large recruiting pool at BG compared to bigger programs that usually get top choice. This makes it more difficult to do extensive background checks to avoid mistakes especially when there’s less money to do so. Operating a small D1 as Urban pointed out is a lot of work since the head coach wears so many hats with a limited staff. If this doesn’t make sense then you’re not in touch with the reality at BG

See how what works? He wasn't with the program any longer. A former employer of yours isn't going to care if you end up going to jail, right?guest44 wrote:The BGSU Football program recruited a player to Bowling Green who committed serious crimes. Re: Where was all the outrage?
Hrhis isn't a new phenomenon at BGSU. Blackney had Akilil Hutchison...Brandon had Melvin Cole and a host of others...Clawson had that RB who got arrested for attempted rape while he was here and that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure people here could cite even more examples...but what would be the point. Find me the program that doesn't have a rogues gallery of players or former players that have committed crimes while they were on campus or in their city.
It seems to be a systemic issue with the human race

While I most certainly don’t condone stealing someone’s cell phone, charger and keys, I’m not so concerned about Austyn Curley’s crime that it has me quite to the level of “outrage”. Unless the story was referencing THE Austyn Curley of Rudolph, in which case I’m beyond incensed.

Didn't recall seeing this but since he is no longer on the team, I'm glad he's gone. Sounds like he committed very serious offenses.guest44 wrote:I just can't believe we didn't get a single tweet, protest or discussion for these actions from a former BGSU football player. Remember hearing a story of when Hutchison was being questioned at the police station. He removed his championship ring and SLAMMED in into the trash basket!Flipper wrote:Hrhis isn't a new phenomenon at BGSU. Blackney had Akilil Hutchison..
He was a talent that Blackney knew would give him an edge on the field....remembering the difference he made at OSU that year.
