Heard that a 7 Game schedule is slated for a vote, starting October 31. Season will not count against eligibility.

If true...MacDonald plays 1st half...Keller and Melton split the 3rd and 4th qtr reps. Play true freshmen whenever possible and treat it like a glorified exhibition season.

May as well. I'm pretty sure the NCAA ruled some time ago that this Fall season would not count against eligibility for all sports -- but I have no idea how they're going to mitigate the sizes of teams based on scholarships. There are going to be recruits not allowed to come that have committed, if they make teams stick to the 85 limit. The coaches are going to have to be good at juggling.

I have to imagine the NCAA will up the scholarship limit to 105, then decrease by 10 for the next two years, or something similar.

Maybe with the added players they will cut walk ons? Create some alternative “shirt” designation keeping the roster size same, 105 I believe?

If it counts in no way, I like that idea. That said, your record is your record, so coaches will want to win....

From a purely sports perspective, I like the idea of bringing it back and playing in the fall for the simple fact that it keeps us on that same calendar as the other conferences and we can all hopefully have a unified start next fall and play 12. Next September, we're currently slated to play @ Tennessee, vs. South Alabama, vs. Murray State, and @ Minnesota.

If they play this fall, Melton won't be available. Had shoulder surgery in the spring.

Looks like it’s on!! No practice or anything for a 10 day quarantine. Then have at it.

I understand Gazarek the TE/ baseball kid blew his knee out. Lots of injuries.

That's a shame about both. At least with Melton, this was likely to be a learning/redshirt year anyway. I thought Gazarek had a chance to see some significant time on the field this season. Glad there won't be any loss of eligibility this year.

Speaking of which, does anyone know the intricacies of that? Does this mean there will likely be a ton more grad transfers with two years of eligibility left in a couple of years since there was no impact on eligibility?

It will all unfold soon I suppose, as a Fall season appears to be upon us. I’m not sure they (NCAA) even know yet?

Pete Thamel is reporting that the MAC presidents are meeting Friday for a vote on a 6-game fall season.

I'd assume that will be 5 divisional games and then one crossover.
