Seriously great article, thanks for the post. Loeffler is competent, stable, and committed, and so far has things pointed in a good direction. Hearing that he put his money where his mouth is with the high contract buyout is further evidence that he is in fact committed and has a good head on his shoulders.

And I also appreciate that Briggs is realistic about season expectations. Last year showed just how awful of a situation Loeffler inherited and there is no good quick fix.

Loeffler is literally the exact opposite of Kingston and his crew. Loeffler gets it. It's just unfortunate so many fell for orange pick up truck and his cronies. It's also unfortunate Mr. Orange pick up truck put the program here, in an attempt to fast forward his career. A career he had to bail on before Jinks even coached a game. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in those negotiations. Administrators hand picked by Kingston, similar fashion to Babers and Jinks, seeking loyalty to BGSU. The Kingston hiring model was something you would not teach.

Cool story. I'll be honest though, I think Loeffler knew what he was walking into and figured he wasn't going to have immediate success, so the five year guarantee is something pretty easy to commit to. I have a hard time believing he wouldn't jump ship and strike while the iron is hot if the opportunity came. If not, you hazard yourself the risk of becoming the next Gregg Brandon.

I believe Loeffler knew what he was walking into, and then found that the situation is actually worse. No way anyone could predict that a team could not line up correctly or was in as poor of physical shape as it was.

My hope is that by year four Loeffler is kicking himself for this pledge and contract. Because 2020 and 2021, the only job he would get would be another OC job. Nobody will hire a head coach with a losing record even with consideration of the situation upon arrival. But come 2022 or 2023, I'm hoping he is a hot name for a major job because that means winning seasons.

Sounds like he's trying to mimic the Clawson model. Not a bad idea.

It's a " non-tracking" feature of the Chrome browser. Basically, there is no access to any cookies allowed by your browser. Websites that only allow you to access a certain amount of content can't track the amount you have accessed. Only allowed 7 articles a month like the Sentinel? Read your 7 articles, close the incognito tab, open a new one, and you can read 7 more.

If using your phone, press and hold the link until a menu pops up. Usually takes 3-5 seconds depending on your settings. The menu that pops up gives options of "Open in new tab," "Open in incognito tab," "Copy link," "Share link," asking a few others. Select "Open in incognito tab."

You can also directly open a blank incognito tab by selecting the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of your browser. You would then type in a web address as normal. Keep in mind, you are not logged in to any websites in incognito mode. The browser does not access any cookies you have stored.

On a computer, you right click on the link to get the same options.
