Really looking forward to Matt McDonald at QB. Hoping he opens up the offense.

I think we will move the ball well and score. We will give up some big plays on occasion, as we are very young on the back end. I expect to be in the game in the 4th quarter. Weather looks like it will be good!

Have a friend whose son plays at MSU. I asked how it was in the stands to watch, with no fans ....he said it was horrible as a fan, with pumped in sounds and annoying “music” playing constantly. I will report the experience from Toileto.

OBSERVATIONS:
-Tyrone Broden redshirted at WR last year, and now he's a starter. Same goes for Davion Daniels defensively.
-We're really young on defense - 9 of the 11 day one starters should be back next year.
-Nobody from Loeffler's first full class (2020) is starting yet - so we'll have to wait on those guys.
-We're missing Jerry McBride and Sam Neverov on the depth chart completely, but Neverov (at least) is supposed to be a starter this year. That'll be something to monitor.
-We have 5 three-stars starting on offense, and 4 three-stars starting on defense.

Yikes. Defense might be ugly this year. Excited to see what McDonald can do and a healthy Clair is extremely important to the offense. Greatest question is going to be the OL.

I'm less worried about defensive starters than I am defensive depth. The 2 deep is going to be thin. Thin as 2010. Hopefully won't be a big problem in game one but by game 6 could be a massive headache. Hence why Loeffler is recruiting so much on defense. Given covid eligibility rules I expect to see a ton of true freshmen play on defense this year. And in general 18 year olds aren't ready to play in the front seven due to lack of college conditioning.

McBride is done for the year with injury.

Oh wow. Any chance he comes back next season for a full senior year or is he moving on?

Based on the injury, not sure he can make it back by Fall, should he want to. He was one I was looking forward to having back there.
