Ball State is returning the favor to Buffalo from 2008. BSU up by 14 at halftime. Holding Patterson to under 50!

Doesn’t it seem that the underdog gets the win in this game more often than not? Watching this game is making me wonder how Ball State had any losses this season.

I haven't actually been been able to watch the game. How do the teams look? Did Ball State attack Patterson and force the passing game to take a larger role than normal?

They zoned in on Patterson whenever he was in the game and really bulldozed the Buffalo O-line.

Also, worth pointing out that Ball State was 1-15 in the MAC in Mike Neu’s first two years, going 0-8 and getting blown out with an anemic offense in year two. He’s in year five and has built a program with multiple NFL prospects.

Beat me to it. Went 0-8 in 2017. Third year I think. Really showed life in 2019 and now has some hardware to display. It takes time to build and develop.

Neu is a Ball State alum. All Indiana man. Was a QB in college and eventually a QB coach and then OC. Was a "huh? what?" pick when hired. Definitely some similarities to our situation save one big one. He had been a head coach previously in AFL.

Great game plan by Ball St. 2-10 in 2017 to MAC Champs in 2020.
