To follow on the Phil Steele ranking hubbub…. PFF listed the following:
Akron 130
BG 129
NIL 124
Eastern 116
Syracuse 104 (Babers)
Kent 94
The point of this is that we are in the same boat; currently, as several we will face, based on outsiders opinions. Who is to say we can’t knock off Akron, Eastern, NIL this season?

Re: PFF Rankings
NIU didn't win a game last year either. Akron only beat BG, which I think the Ohio D-1 high school champs could have given BG a run for their money last year.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 3:58 pm To follow on the Phil Steele ranking hubbub…. PFF listed the following:

Sobering to think that six years ago, BG and NIU were coming off the last of three straight MAC championship games against each other. Now look. Success is fleeting at this level.

Re: PFF Rankings
Serious question, what happened to NIU? They won the conference in 2018, lost their coach, and then apparently hired their own version of Mike Jinks who drove the program right off a cliff. And what must be so frustrating is their coach is an NIU alum. He should know the program and the recruiting well.

It speaks to the fragility of rosters and the damage that can be done in a very short time. A proven process must be in place and militantly followed daily.MarkL wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 10:53 am Serious question, what happened to NIU? We might liken it to the Automotive Just in time inventory….screw it up for 4 months and it takes two year to recover (see current chip crisis).
