Fall Camp
While interest in the program may be at an all-time low, it's always an exciting day when camp opens. Media will be present today so we should get some soundbytes from players and coaches. I think there's a lot of storylines to follow this season as we see who is going to stand out as some of the players for the future of the program.
Things to watch:
RB, WR corps - who starts and what does the depth chart look like?
QB play - does McDonald look better after his surgery? Does anyone challenge him for the starting job?
Lines - OL and DL will be inexperienced and undersized

Re: Fall Camp
It will be sure interesting to see what we have. Honestly, the game at Tennessee could be more of the same. But I would hope we start getting a better idea where we stand in the South Alabama and Murray State games.
Re: Fall Camp
Jordan Strack from WTOL was at camp this morning.
He noted that Matt McDonald is healthy and looks to be throwing the ball much better. Says he really worked hard on his throwing mechanics while rehabbing his injury.
Also noted that Tucker Melton appears to be QB2 at the moment, and that BG added a transfer QB, in a walk-on from the University of Alabama, Jayden George.

Re: Fall Camp
Jayden George was a 2019 recruit so he has some eligibility. Additionally his dad is Jeff George. Former first overall draft pick to unfortunately the pre-Peyton Manning Colts. Long but not really notable NFL career.
Between that in his family and spending a couple years learning from Alabama's coaches, this could be a good transfer.

Re: Fall Camp
McDonald - Sr.
Gunther - So.
Keller - R-Fr.
Sparks - R-Fr.
George - So.
Melton - R-Fr.
I'd say we finally have some depth back at the position.

Re: Fall Camp
Two years ago right around now we had one QB - Grant Loy. Certainly in far better shape at that position these days.

Re: Fall Camp
Another stark reminder of the state of the program at that time. And….. Loy got 2nd team snaps all that spring, before Doege defected. If a QB went down Fall 2019…. We were dead. Unthinkable really. I think our offense that season was crafted to get out alive…..

Re: Fall Camp
In these days of transferportalorama...you HAVE to have a lot of depth at QB...five of them could leave next week

He's there too, skipped over him by mistake.

List is wrong.
Labronz remains in the mix.
Sparks out, likely permanent on Medical.
