MAC Title Game
NIU was supposed to stink. I was one who penciled them in as a BG win. They are as young as BG. Looking good, playing to their players strengths, may win it today.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: MAC Title Game
It’ll be about 3-4 games in next year and most everyone will agree it’s been enough and ready to move on.
Re: MAC Title Game
Been hearing all game how young they are and their record last year.
Re: MAC Title Game
Not sure who was their QB last year but bringing in Lombardi was huge

And Lombardi isn’t a whole lot different than Grant Loy.

NIU giving Crum fits today wow
Re: MAC Title Game
Lombardi is a far better passer than Loy. Not even close. Loy is one of my all time favorite BG players and it has nothing to do with his arm.

Grant Loy....good enough for Auburn...bur not BGroguewarrior wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 2:05 pmAnd Lombardi isn’t a whole lot different than Grant Loy.
SL has had an excuse/story every year. This year he was following the Clawson plan...even though the xfer portal makes that template obsolete. What will it be next year

I get why Loy left but always wonder if things would have been different if he stayed and played instead of McDonald.
Re: MAC Title Game
Eh. Loy being “good enough for Auburn” is a little bit overblown. He played in a whole 2 games and was 0/2 passing for his career down there, statistically. And that was following a season here at BG where he completed 56% of his passes for 6 TDs and 11 picks.Flipper wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 2:25 pmGrant Loy....good enough for Auburn...bur not BGroguewarrior wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 2:05 pmAnd Lombardi isn’t a whole lot different than Grant Loy.

I love Loy for the Toledo game, but it’s not like he was some prolific passer that was going to lead us to the promised land.
He was down there for his leadership and to be a body in case their starter (and backup) got hurt. Good for him for having the opportunity to get in at an SEC school, but he rode the bench there. In terms of on-field production, it wasn’t a huge loss to have him leave.

Loy was on their team...stating that isn't overselling anything

What an amazing ending to Baylor/OK ST. Literally decided by inches
