Nate Needham

Senior K Nate Needham was named a First Team All-American today by the Football Writers Association of America.

He’s only the third player from BG to ever make that list, since it began in 1944.

Outstanding season. We’re going to miss him next year.

Well deserved. It's criminal he wasn't a Groza finalist.

I'm thinking Brian Leaver was one of the others...who else?

Thank you for the correction. That 2012 team goes down as maybe my favorite in BG history. Not the best team, but when the winning mentality and all the work in offseason conditioning finally paid off.

Punter Chris Shale was named All American. I think he may have led the nation in punting around 1990 or so?
