There is a new locker room underway, as well as the weight room being updated. The nutrition program is also being revamped. It was improved upon once before before…. I can only imagine it must have been chicken fingers and fries in the Jinks era….. Positive steps forward.

Well deserved…when you win 4 games in a season, that needs to be rewarded.

Which "nutrition plan?" The actual food service, or what is provided by Ready Nutrition?
Pretty sure the weight room in the Sebo was just updated within the last 2-3 years.

They get fed meals at the facility, in addition to regular food services. I suspect that is getting better. They told the players “you are getting a new locker room” … same comment with weight room. Loeffler told parents the same last night in a meeting.
The weight room was expanded a year or so ago. Must be more. Maybe better equipment too?

Doesn't football share the weight room with other sports, too? Lots of schools are starting to have separate weight facilities for specific sports with the big money expansions, so I could see that being the case with football. The university I work at now has a massive football weight room, basketball weight room, and then olympic sports weight room as three separate facilities.

The weight room is shared, but it is theirs only during their allotted time. I don’t know the day to day mechanics of it. I would doubt they are getting a football only room. I think that would be bigger news? I would think a new room and equipment would be north of $1 Mill ?

It seems like the Sebo Center was built yesterday. (It opened in 2007.) I'm surprised to hear of a new locker room. What does that mean? I would think the footprint opened in 2007 would still be fine, but I've never used the space (obviously).

Are we going to get a new strength coach to match it?

“New” to me means revamped, given the state we are in at this time. I was in the locker room once, several years ago. It seemed decent, but it was tight-compartmentalized. I think there was an empty room adjacent to it, maybe expanding into it? Perhaps others here have spent more time in it then I did?

I wish we would. Our guy still has his Franco Columbo workout taped to the wall. They have caused injuries with bad training.

The last strength coach we had who was really qualified and seemed to get the kind of results you want was Clawson's guy, Brandon Hourigan. IIRC.. He had a Master's degree and a lot of high end certs. It's not all about the books and learning...but a guy who gets the rght certifications and keeps them is more likely to be on top of the latest techniques

………..but I thought we were short on $$$$$.
I guess Moose will have to drop 2-3 more sports to finance it!

Recreation & Wellness Director Moosbrugger will just pull student fee money from Recreation & Wellness to pay for it. Bowling Green Football could have easily won 14 games with the proper nutrition last season.

I’m fine with improving the nutrition if it’s lacking. No way in hell the football team should be getting any more facility improvements until they do something productive on the field. The facilities are more than adequate to compete for MAC titles. Hope they already have plans to pay for baseball again, because this is irresponsible otherwise.
