I think they look good on film and have a good RB. By no means a lock this week, regardless of who beat who.

Central Michigan is a 6.5-point favorite. Definitely not a lock.

Lew Nichols didn't make the trip vs. Akron due to an injury suffered against Ball State and the Chips struggled, won the game essentially on a scoop and score. Don't know his status for this week. Something to watch. This is a winnable game as CMU has been pretty disappointing this season on both sides of the ball. BG has a chance to get back to .500 and set themselves up for a fun November. Play like they did vs. Miami and they give themselves a chance.
For those making the trip, weather is looking much nicer this weekend.

Absolutely. This is a winnable game and hoping the offense can put more points on the board. 17 ain't enough most weekends in this league. We probably should have had at least 28 against the RedHawks. The D has another chance to build on a solid performance. BG and CMU are about the same on paper. I'm gonna be across the pond in Deutschland from 20-31 Oktober. Gotta set a reminder that kickoff over there is 7pm this Samstag.

1 PM here. I think I can pull it up on my phone if it's on ESPN+. Hard to believe the technology where you can watch a game from halfway around the world on a phone. GO FALCONS!!!!

Central is not a place where we've seen a ton of success over the years. This will be a tough one.

We should have lost to the worst team in the league (Akron) and beat the team favored to win the east (Miami). Every game is winnable and loseable...

Would like to see some improvements in the red zone. Everyone with eyeballs called that back shoulder fade interception to Broden early in the game vs Miami. Obviously that abysmal fake field goal vs Buffalo and why is it that I feel like we run jet sweeps inside the 10 all the time? Never understood the east/west rushing attempts that close to the end zone. Fannin is an absolute truckload and I for one would love to see him lineup as a fullback in the I when we get close to the goal line (have they done that before?)
As ugly as it was, defense was awesome against Miami and that strip sack reminded me of the early/mid 2010's defensive type of plays. Bend don't break, timely turnovers, and step up on 3rd down. Obviously, we don't have the same offense we had back then. But I really think this defense is miles better than they've shown in the non Miami/Marshall games. Heck, it was supposed to be the strength of the team coming into the season. No reason to think we can't keep this momentum going. Whatever type of momentum it is.
It is sort of funny to think that we are right in the middle of a very winnable division race but we as fans are hesitant to have any actual excitement as we all know how quickly this can turn sideways. I for one am just thankful we are close to the end of October and we are still playing somewhat meaningful games.

I think you've captured the mood well.

Hanging over us like the sword of Damacles for the better part of 4 years.
A solid workman like victory this weekend could finally lift it.

True...Miami was favored to win the east...but that was with Gabbard at QB. His replacement is a notch or two below him. The Miami win was impressive because it was a tough, gut it out win. We've seen those before and the effort isn't sustained week to week. My concern is that we're still pretty sloppy, especially for a veteran team.

Agree on both points.

McElwain said Lew Nichols is probable tomorrow but will ultimately be a game time decision. He and Lukes will be a tough one - two combo to contain.

"Kung Fu" *Christian* Simms on this opening drive. Wow. What a leap.

Bowling Green scores on the opening drive on a fourth-and-inches run by Harold Fannin. It's 7-0.
