Falcons opened +4 today. Weather looking ideal, high near 70 during the day with light winds. Low 60s at kickoff.

So, what’s the feel? Roll them and “take off” or regress and get punished?

If we’re competitive, I can live with whatever result.
But damn, I wanna win and clinch a bowl game and be riding a ton of momentum into the Toledo game.

I honestly thought Bowling Green would be a slight favorite given Kent State's last couple of games.
I'm afraid to make any predictions about these Falcons given the ups and downs of this season. I'd like to think we can win this one and clinch a bowl game. We weren't that far away from beating the Flashes last season.
It only gets harder after this one.

Tickets are 6 dollars. I know the game won't be that packed regardless but whoever made that decision made a right one. Weather looks nice and I'm planning to go which is my first home game this season

I don't believe a single win from here on out clinches a bowl game. It gives us a chance, but it's no guarantee. It depends on how the bowl tie ins per conference play out with having the right number of eligible teams. The Scuds went 6-6 in 2019 and sat home with no bowl game. No doubt their "bad" loss to BG that year played into any discretion bowl committees may have had. It's possible that our "bad" loss to EKU could land us in exactly the same position for the same kind of reason. Once upon a time, FCS/Div 1-AA wins were not counted toward bowl eligibility. I just hope it doesn't come down to a committee having a choice between BG and another school where all other things are equal but they beat their FCS opponent by 30.

This is fair.
The good news is, the rest of the MAC is pretty awful this year so I don’t think we’re going to run out of MAC bowl slots. But you never know! Best to win and leave no doubt.

I think any MAC team that gets to six wins will have a bowl game. I saw on one site that we are projected for the Quick Lane Bowl against Michigan State (LOL), and I can't imagine many places have us doing better than 1-2 over the last three games.

I understand the instinct to hedge here given the weight of history, but I think 6-6 will be plenty to get us into a bowl game.
As I understand this, the MAC has eight bowl tie-ins. The MAC has tie-ins to each of these six games:
– Bahamas Bowl vs Conference USA
– Camellia Bowl (Montgomery, Alabama) vs American Athletic or Sun Belt
– Famous Idaho Potato Bowl vs Mountain West
– LendingTree Bowl (Mobile, Alabama) vs Sun Belt
– Barstool Arizona Bowl vs Mountain West
– Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit) vs Big Ten
The MAC can also put a team in two of these games:
– Cure Bowl (Orlando) vs Group of Five or Army
– Myrtle Beach Bowl vs American Athletic or Sun Belt
– New Mexico Bowl vs Conference USA
– RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl vs Group of Five
– Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl vs Group of Five
At most, nine MAC schools will win six games this season. Northern Illinois and Akron have already lost more than six games this year. Also, Central Michigan or Western Michigan both have six losses, and they still have to play each other.
The number of MAC teams that can qualify for a bowl will shrink to eight if Bowling Green beats Kent State this week.

Joyce and I are planning to be here for the KSU game. We would have been last week too if she hadn’t thought the weather would be “ BG usual “ ( meaning lousy) then it was opposite. Chance of another weeknite game with good weather? Wow!
Anyway, anyone else coming? Modified tailgate?

I'll be there but sometime after 5 since I have to work. There were a few who got there early last week and setup shop for a long tailgate.
