Anyone heading to Athens? As luck would have it I have 2.5 PTO days left and it's use them or lose them. I haven't been to OU in a while and this game means a lot. Heading down with MajorFalcon92.

GO BG

Loeffler always talks about what Dave Clawson said and did during his time at BG. Back in 2012 before BG started its MAC Championship run, Clawson state that for BG to starting winning championships, it needed to start beating Ohio. Well, here we are, looking dead in the eyes at that exact scenario. As much as I'm surprised we're actually in this spot, we are. While I would never wish an injury on someone, I saw Ohio QB Kurtis Rourke left the Ball State game with a knee injury. It sounds like it wasn't anything serious and it looks like he's going to be back next week. If that's the case, I just don't see any way BG wins this game. Rourke will be the MAC Player of the Year and I think Ohio is going to win the MAC Championship over Toledo. He'll torch our secondary if he plays, which it sounds like he will. Ohio is undefeated at home, they have won 6 straight games by 21, 19, 7, 21, 16 and 14 points, and are red hot. They look unbeatable to me right now. As much as I would love to see BG play UT in the MACC, I just can't see us slowing down OU enough to matter. Now, if Rourke can't go or isn't himself, and our offense opens it up like they finally did vs Toledo, I could see us hanging around. But this just looks too much like it's Ohio's year.

Guess there's no point in playing the game then.

Rourke is not a guarantee to be back next week either. My gut says he plays, but if it means lesser mobility which could affect the option game and his time in the pocket, that's still a considerable impact.

I think the Falcons will be ready for the challenge.

Holy moly. Such optimism! Did you wake up on the right side of the bed?

I have no idea what will happen next Tuesday. I think we've learned that this team can play with anyone in the MAC, but that it doesn't always happen.

I would rather he plays. Don’t want an asterisk next to a win. Anyone can be beat in this league. Hopefully, we get the bounces and make the plays. I will be there .

Have you met this guy? He’s been carrying on about OU for 20 years.

Why do they call it Maction? Because often times the unexpected happens. On paper we should get beat but there’s a reason we play the games. It will take the ball bouncing our way, officials not shooting us in the foot and we can’t shoot ourselves in the foot. If those three things happen then I think we win. We have not seen this team play a clean game. Maybe they aren’t disciplined or good enough to do so but I have a sneaky suspicion they just might.

There’s another school that was undefeated at home before Tuesday night that was red hot. How did that work out?

BG is going to go down to Athens with a ton of confidence after last week. They know they can win the big one now, and they’re going to do it again. There won’t be a hangover after last week…not with everything on the line.

Falcons 31, OU 28

I'm thinking about it, since I'm off work. Have a busy schedule and will try to make it work out but not sure I want to jinx the team with my presence! lol

Weather looks good...Tuesday's high in Athens is supposed to be 50 and the low in the mid 20's. I smell a shootout...

Not that I'd care to sit it in, but 50 mph wind and sideways sleet would probably be more to our advantage.

Ummm, you have seen what Rourke is doing to teams this year, right? I would gladly take an asterisk next to a win than any loss going against him. We didn't beat Toledo with Finn at QB for the Rockets and there's no one complaining about that win. Had a healthy Finn played, we don't get the win. I get the point you're making and I agree it would be a helluva win beating them with them. But with a healthy Rourke, we aren't leaving Athens with a win. We just aren't.

Yes, but without their All-MAC QB. Let's not pretend we didn't face UT without a missing player that was a huge void to fill.

Ohio has mowed through 6 straight games and has only trailed once - ONCE - in a combined 24 quarters of play during that stretch. That was 3-0 in the first quarter at Ball State. They jump on teams early and often and no one can keep up with them. It's beyond imperative that BG must get ahead of Ohio right out of the gate and finally put some pressure on them, as no one has done in the last two and a half months. If BG falls behind by two scores, it's ballgame.

Better tell the team to cancel their bus trip on Monday.
