What has the portal et al done to the big Signing day events of the past? Saw a recruit from Texas invite his friends to his signing with BG. On Wed., Dec 14. Don’t think I’ve seen much talk on AZZ about this day which most of us used to look forward to. And the colleges themselves made it into a BIG deal. Kind of sad for current HS Seniors who are being “squeezed “ out of big day.
At any rate, it should be interesting to see how many high schoolers become Falcons on Wed.

To my knowledge, early signing day isn’t until next Wednesday? But I could be wrong. With the transfer portal, two signing periods, and everything else, I don’t even fully understand the calendar anymore. Lol.

Always look forward to the times we find out who the new guys coming into the program are, though. 247 right now has to be really inaccurate, so I feel like there will be a lot of surprises this year.

Yeah, early signing day is 12/21. Honestly the day seems insignificant now with the portal madness. Attrition will be high every year with kids leaving. Probably won't see no more than 12-14 high school kids signing with the remainder of scholarships going to portal recruits. The game has changed.

He held offers from Akron, Army, Central Michigan, UConn, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Middle Tennessee State, Montana State, Navy, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Jackson Kleather, a kicker from Tipp City, OH, just signed with BG. He was not shown in the class on 247.

Brody Bolyn, a 3-star OL from Ossian, IN has signed with BG. He also had an offer from Illinois State.

Alijah Williams, a 3-star DE from Buford, GA, has signed with BG. He also had offers from Duke, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Liberty, Tennessee Tech, and Western Kentucky.

Jabari Mitchell, a 3-star LB from Reynoldsburg, OH, has now signed BG after committing yesterday. He isn’t in the class that 247 is displaying yet.

He decommitted from Kent State after Lewis left. He had offers from Kent State, Akron, Ball State, Coastal Carolina, Dartmouth, Eastern Michigan, Marshall, Miami, Ohio, Old Dominion, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

David Afogho, a LB from Boston, MA, just signed with BG. He had offers from Rhode Island and Bryant. The official tweet about him said he won 2 state titles in high school, so it seems like the kid is a winner. He was not listed in the class on 247.

Shawn Thigpen is in, I like his chances of starting as a freshman.

Jacob Harris, a WR from Westerville, OH, has signed with BG. He also had an offer from Youngstown State. He was not previously listed in the class on 247.

He’s the son of BG legend Josh Harris.

Dalyn White, a DL from Lewisville, TX, has signed with BG. He also held offers from Georgetown, SMU, and Wyoming.

We’ve hit a bit of a lull this morning after a flurry to start the day. By my count, we have 9 signed and at least 2 more listed on 247 that are supposed to be in the class that haven’t signed yet.

There can also be some surprises still out there, and we also still have Signing Day in February to build to, but I think a lot of the rest of the class will end up being transfers. Anyone else have thoughts?

Tracy Revels, a 3-star safety and the highest rated player in our class, has signed with BG.

He had offers from Colorado, Arkansas State, UTSA, UMass, Middle Tennessee State, Troy, and Tulsa.
