The Co-DCs at BC during Loefflers last year
1-Anthony Campanile-LBs coach at Miami https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Campanile
----there is a ridiculous rumor that Mike McDonald is being fired.....if its true....
2-Jim Ried-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Reid_ ... _football)
He is 72 but an unbelievable amount of experience.

No better way to do that than starting at the top...

I think Lewis is one of our better coaches, so I don’t know if I actually take this as good news.

Yes, Pelini was retained for a month. It made no sense.

Bring back Nick Monroe as DC...he can actually recruit D1 prospects from Florida and his tweets are funny AF

Re: DC Eric Lewis
If we could make the money work (probably can’t), I would think about hiring Mike Elston as DC. We’ll need to figure out someone else to coach DBs because he’s a DL guy, but he’s currently Michigan’s DL coach. 48 years old. From St. Mary’s, OH.
Won a national title at Michigan and was teammates with Loeffler up there. Has been a coach at EMU, CMU, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, and now Michigan. Seems like a fit if we were at all competitive in terms of salaries.

Good opportunity to move on. That side of the ball is losing a lot of talent, and Eric knows 2023 will probably be a challenge. Plus, I think it would be cool to coach at one of the service academies.

Re: DC Eric Lewis
Yeah, this seems like the logical reasoning. New coach at Navy, similar pay with multiple years guaranteed. Plus Annapolis is beautiful (though way more expensive than you’d guess).jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 5:17 pm Good opportunity to move on. Re: DC Eric Lewis
This is a good indication of where the coaches feel the program is at…Moving from Coordinator at BG to DB coach at Navy is at best a slight demotion. Either he knows BG is going to struggle next year or he doesn’t have much confidence in this Loeffler getting an extension that provides real job security. Probably is a little bit of both.
Not sure why everyone at BG has to play this game of charades pretending like Loeffler is the guy when he obviously isn’t. Just cut the cord and move on. Save yourself just wasting another year and save the fans from having to watch this offense again.
