My issues with the schedule:
-A span including 3 straight road games, opening with 5 of the first 7 on the road
-only 3 weekend home games vs. 2 on weeknights
-no home Saturday games after October 21
-short week to prepare for Toledo, which is on a weeknight
-9/23 home game seems likely to be Homecoming, but it’s competing with OSU-Notre Dame that day… which is a disaster for attendance. If not, it's 10/21... which competes against OSU-Penn State.
-8 consecutive games without an off week to open the year

2-10 or possibly 3-9. EIU and Akron look like W's...maybe Kent State

One of the worst schedules in recent memory. Home games are all MAC-level or worse. Probably only two home games where the weather will be decent. I'm sure they won't drop season ticket prices either to account for one less home game this year.

Unless the new QB is elite and/or Stewart is the best RB in the MAC, there aren’t going to be many wins. Let’s just hope if it is a 3-9 season, there isn’t any type extension/buyout hurdle to make a change.
3-4 wins and Loeffler is coming back makes the schedule even worse.

Not the best sked for sure...those three straight road games are a bit much. The good news? My friend Sven will be coming from Germany Sept 15-30. I sent him a BG jersey and hat a couple years ago and he wants to go to a BG game and an NFL game.

Meanwhile the rival to the north go to Illinois followed by 4 straight mild weather home games. Are they attempting to $tarve the program like hockey and baseball?

BG-UT screwed the pooch again. Both had an open date on Saturday, September 23rd that they could have played on, but I knew it was gonna be OU-BG instead.
It gets easier to say no to this every season. Can’t believe I held season tickets for nearly a decade. Wouldn’t even think about it with this schedule. Probably won’t even go up to Ann Arbor (was hoping we’d be competitive this year for that one - like the ‘blueprint’ that was laid out).

In case anyone is curious who at BG took the credit and accolades for football scheduling. That would be a Mr. Con Man Kit Hughes.

BG’s schedule is not only horrible, it’s going to be brutal. Five of our first seven games are on the road including a pair of road games at Michigan and Georgia Tech with MAC East favorite Ohio sandwiched in between?! Are you kidding me. And speaking of Ohio, if you want to talk about a dream schedule for a MAC team, they were handed a dream come true schedule by the conference this year! Not only will they be picked to win the East and return the MAC Player of the Year and nearly everyone, their schedule is crazy good. As in, their AD couldn’t have made one any better.
Look at this for a second:
- Ohio does not play an away game at a Power Five school (every other MAC team does, including many schools having to play them multiple times).
- Ohio only plays one Power Five school and it's a home game against ISU who only won 3 games last year (Ohio is the only MAC team that will host a Power Five school).
- Ohio has not one but two byes in the conference schedule (no other MAC team has two).
- Ohio does not have to play consecutive away games at any point during the season (every other MAC school has consecutive road games, some even multiple times).
- Ohio will play 5 Saturday home games this season. That’s unheard of for this conference anymore.
- Ohio doesn’t have to play West favorite Toledo.
I mean, I can’t recall the last time I have seen such a favorable and tilted schedule for a MAC team in all my years following this conference! It’s absurdly good for them.

So much positivity on this board. It's the MAC, every game is winnable until it isn't. Liberty won't be nearly as good given their coaching turnover. Michigan and GA Tech are obvious losses.
We have no idea how the roster is going to look come fall so the doom and gloom is kind of laughable.

Agree with this. I think the schedule is brutal and gives the fans and alumni a collective middle finger, but MAC games should be and are (need to be) winnable. We'll see how this team is humming when fall camp arrives and then we'll have a better idea of what to expect for this season.

Akron, BG, Kent, Miami, CMU, WMU all have five home games this year. This is why trying to survive at this level of football is stupid. Half the programs need to play money games to justify their existence and screw over their students and local alumni base. How does Toledo also get four straight home games in September and early October? Ridiculous.

Yep, and then they double down on that screw job by making all the late season games mid-week evenings...for a few more bucks.
I don't get the doom & gloom over the schedule release. I think this team is gonna be awful and I think the program is in the dump. I thought the same a year ago and was surprised by mediocrity rather than awfulness...maybe I'll get the same next year. The schedule is irrelevant. We knew we had to play a couple of money games on the road, it's the only way we can keep the lights on for the night games. I think we all knew UT would again be a MACtion game, as awful as that is, I don't know why we even bother letting it get to us anymore.
This is MAC football, it's been MAC football, and it will be MAC football as long as they desperately cling to paying millions for their coaching staffs and trying to stay in the FBS. Need that brutal OOC schedule to pay the bills. Screw over anybody who might actually attend games in favor of ESPN broadcast rights. Nobody that would actually bring value from the "exposure" watches those weeknight games, either. They're gamblers getting their fix. I if the MAC is going to keep giving them their fix for our crumbs I wish they'd go all in and try to get an actual piece of that gambling pie. Pick an official sportsbook of the MAC and have more FanDuel logos on the stadium than you do people in the seats. f**k it, milk it for every penny we can to try and stay afloat...

Send some of that FanDuel money over to the MBB program so we can hire a competent coach...
