Title IX requires due process and confidentiality. Investigation has to conclude before they can fire him for cause, if indeed that's the course they take. Saves MSU a lawsuit. But yes, he'll be fired soon.

Suspended without pay...Harlan Barnett is the acting HC, Mark Dantonio is back as the Associate HC. Apparently...the matter had been under investigation for months, but four of the eight members of the Board of Trustees learned about it by reading the newspaper stories that broke over the weekend.
What a mess...the only bright spot being this gives MSU a chance to walk away from the massive 10 year $95 million extension they gave Tucker after one good season...a contract they had to have regrets about.

If I were Sparty, I'd be looking at Sean Lewis for the HC job. Bring that offense to the B1G and I think they'd have success.

Tucker is not going quietly...called the process " a sham". Be interesting to see how much he can get out of them to just go away. Don't see him wanting to leave Wake, but Clawson is the type of coach they need. Smart, organized and he runs a clean program

The folks I know at Wake have told me Clawson has told them he is happy coaching out his career there. He's at about $3 million a season and it's basically a lifetime contract. That said, if a school came along offering 8-9 years of guaranteed $8+ million a year, it might be hard for him to say no.

He was stupid to sign a contract containing a moral turpitude clause that basically allows the university to be judge, jury, and executioner on what they deem to fit that definition. Then he goes out and starts a relationship with essentially a university approved contractor, while traveling on university time and staying in a hotel paid by university funds. I understand the guy is entitled to his private life but damn, plenty of mistakes were made here.

It’ll be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out in court.
The accuser is going to get paid…even if what Tucker did was consensual and he did nothing wrong outside of infidelity.
Both sides are going to fight like heck over Tucker’s buyout or lack there of. They would probably be best to save themselves the hassle and just settle on some type of buyout.

Tuck has a big hill to climb to try and recoup any cash. Any reasonable judge would see he violated the terms of his contract. Stacy being a hired vendor by the university also doesn't help his cause.

Even if he agrees to take 10 cents on the dollar, Mel would walk away with 9.5 million...but it seems MSU is in no mood to bargain right now

He’s pretty defiant…he’s dumb regardless for getting himself in this situation, but I bet if it gets to discovery with a lawsuit he’s going to have a little bit of ammo on his side to at least force a settlement.

Tucker's atty's are arguing that the school had "no business" investigating his personal life...a very odd argument to make given his moral turpitude clause
