Chesney seems like a really interesting guy.
Here is a great video with him and another great leader. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbhxrVVMaiA
He might even bring a star QB with him which would be cool.

Re: Possible coaching candidates to replace Loeffler
we need a guy with HC experience at a lower level where resources are limited. He needs to be experienced enough to have an established network of guys he can build a staff with. He needs to have experience in the midwest.

Kehres and Chesney both seem interesting. I am also a big fan of going the power 5 firing route.

6 years as a HC at HC with success
14 total years as a HC, 3 stops with growth at each spot
Current leader is one of the greatest men who have ever walked this earth
Looks like he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves
Just 47
Offense seems fun
-
No ties to Ohio
Hasn't coached D1
Might not have a great group of potential assistants to pull from at this level.

6 years as Mount Union HC with a 95-6 record
Deep Ohio ties
MAC experience (Toledo)

Limited experience beyond Mount Union and Toledo
Defensive side of the ball
Reminds me of Loeffler a bit with his presentation

Re: Possible coaching candidates to replace Loeffler
If Durkin has learned anything from what happened at Maryland, I'd like to see him get another shot. A D-coordinator at a Power 5 wouldn't typically be a candidate for a head coaching job in the MAC. But I don't think another Power 5 school could take a chance on him. But his alma mater? Maybe?

Re: Possible coaching candidates to replace Loeffler
I will always lean hard into guys that have HC experience at lower levels. Like it or not the MAC is not better than most FCS conferences and those guys know the actual job of HC. They can typically bring their entire staff as well so they are all doing the same job(s) but with more scholarships, more talent (in theory). I'm a big fan of what Johns is doing at Duke (Globe is 100% right, he's done more with his current QB than Loeffler has ever done for any QB in his entire career). I could hear an argument that football at Duke is still the bottom rung of FBS, but I do typically prefer guys making their name in leading programs that have similar budget constraints as we do.
I wouldn't let DJ Durkin on campus for an alumni tailgate. I wouldn't let DJ Durkin list BGSU as his alma mater in a game program. If they hired him in any capacity I wouldn't attend a game during his tenure and might consider dropping my basketball tickets as well. I've spent exactly 2 weeks of my life with that man and he's one of the biggest piece of crap human beings I've ever met and the story that got him blackballed is one of the least surprising things I've ever heard in my life. He represents everything negative that should be removed from football (and all sports) and giving him 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances is exactly why his attitude/personality perpetuates.

Re: Possible coaching candidates to replace Loeffler
Forget all the other stuff, he was 10-15 at Maryland. If you’re going to lower your standards at least do it for a proven winner. He’s a dirt bag with a career losing record.
