Our Falcons are off this weekend, but I'm already looking ahead to their matchup with Texas A&M in College Station, TX next weekend. A&M plays @ Florida at 3:30pm on Saturday, 9/14 if you're looking to get some eyes on them before our game. That game will be broadcast on ABC.
When we go play the Aggies, the game will be on Saturday, September 21 at 7:30pm on ESPN+. I'm sure we won't sneak up on them this time around, but it'll be nice to see if we can give Coach Elko's team a run for their (oil) money.
Go Falcons! Get healthy, get better, and let's see if we can go down into SEC country and give them a fight.

Coach Elko will drill into his team's head all week...>DO NOT TAKE BG LIGHTLY. He knows as well as anyone. When they look at the PSU game film, eyebrows will be raised.
A week off is perfect after playing Penn State. Our guys will be jacked up to practice until this game. PSU was a huge confidence builder and they know what they are capable of. Just sucks now to wait almost 2 weeks. LOL
I think we can take the Aggies...and will.
BG 31, A&M 26.

Weigman is a game time decision today for A&M in their game with Florida. Something to keep an eye on.

Looking at the box score, it appears Weigman didn’t play. But it didn’t matter - his backup Marcel Reed was 11/17 for 178 yards and 2 TD. A&M won 33-20.
However, I think BG would beat Florida, too. That program is in awful shape right now, and Billy Napier looks like he might be the first coach fired this year.
Should be an interesting matchup this week. I’m looking for us to be competitive, but I think we ditched the element of surprise with our performance at Penn State last week.

I think BG hangs for a half. A&M has some threats in the pass game that will likely expose the lack of speed in the secondary. Everyone is on notice about the conference after the NIU and Toledo wins, and BG's competitive game in Happy Valley.

Cashius Howell is their edge rusher. He seems to be doing well.
If we play a clean game with minimal penalties/turnovers, I think we can beat them. Thier backup QB might be more difficult for us because he's a duel threat guy. We have to contain him if he plays.

I'm rooting for them to get their starting QB back. He's a primarily a pocket passer. A fast, mobile QB who is not bashful about pulling it down and running with it has always killed us. If we see the backup on Saturday, I expect we will be getting gashed for big yards, especially with our defense not having great speed. We may get gashed for big yards by the starter making downfield throws if he plays, but that's less frustrating for me to watch than when we get them in 3rd down passing situations and cover the receivers well, then watch the QB run for first downs when he can't find anyone open to throw it to. Cue up the footage from the bowl game 2 seasons ago.
I can't see us winning this game, as much as I hate to admit it. I have no doubt that A&M is preparing more seriously for Saturday than they would have if it were their opener. After some of the results this last couple of weeks, they are on notice and won't be sleeping on us.
The disparity between the top teams and bottom teams in the MAC is really significant.

I would love to see this game be close but I don’t think it will be. Stay healthy and collect a paycheck.

Stewart is back on Saturday. No other injury updates, Loeffler did say they got healthier over the bye but didn't provide any specifics.
Elko had a lot of nice things to say about BGSU and the city in general during his press conference. Says he still has friends in town, some of whom are traveling for the game. I got the sense from him that Weigman probably won't play. He called him week to week since the injury occurred on Thursday. As noted their backup is dual threat and will present a lot of problems.
A&M may not be as good as Penn State in totality but I think BG's weaknesses play into their hands rather well.
Kickoff is going to be close to 90. Hope the guys hydrate this week.

Yes! And last year Georgia Tech was coming off a huge win in the road against Wake. The Aggies ended their long road losing streak.
It was hot in ATL last year. Tech wore black jerseys which I think didn’t help. It will be in the mid 90s on Saturday, but at least it will be at night.
ThecAggies ran all over Florida which is a concern. Hopefully Stewart is back.

Loeffler said today that they expect Terion Stewart will play.

I think BG is a much improved team and that we played incredibly against Penn St., but I am going to be a pessimist here and say that A&M has found their rhythm headed into week 4 and that it won't be particularly close. I think it'll be something like 42-17. BG isn't sneaking up on anyone with their game against PSU, and the big MAC wins by UT and NIU.
