Even if he slides down to the 4th round he'll be handed a $4-5m contract for the next 4 yrs. No, it's not guaranteed but most picks that high are a virtual roster lock for at least 2-3 years to figure it out and make some cash.
Good point. A historically slow development position where teams are even more likely to hold onto their draft picks. Is it confirmed that Orth did not take a medical redshirt? I was told he wasn't taking it, but perhaps he is but not staying at BG. I’m not surprised but I’m disappointed. He would have been a shoo-in first teamer next year. I’m guessing he’ll have several Big Ten teams after him.
