2 of the 3 were Loeffler recruits, for what it’s worth.
Also, Eddie was proactive in firing the OC. Isn’t that your gripe with others around BG, complacency? Make up your mind, brother.
Wait, you didn't know? Eddie George is also the Chief of Police for the City of Bowling Green! How dare he not be patrolling Wooster Street on a Sunday morning at 2am!? Why doesn't he have location trackers on his players cell phones too!? Oh, the humanity of it all! Won't someone please think of the children!
There's been a common theme with the people calling for Eddie's head the last couple weeks, the comparisons to Mike Jinks, etc. Surely the intelligent ones can put two and two together.
What a lazy and out of line take. You really want to play that card?
The team hasn't played well. The offense has been pretty much nonexistent. People are watching and wondering what our game plan is. The same people that you are trying to call out also called out Loeffler, so maybe... just maybe... they aren't happy with the lack of results on the field.
Can you genuinely look at the product on the field currently and say that it's up to the level we as a fanbase would like to expect? I'll simply ask, if you had to compare the current product on the field to any of our previous 4 coaches, would you say they are playing more like a Clawson coached, Babers coached, Jinks coached, or Loeffler coached team?
Maybe the Jinks team comparisons aren't too far off when you consider how they blew a 21-3 lead to Kent, or how they got blown off the field against Central and Buffalo. They sure aren't playing at a championship contending level like a Clawson or Babers team. If you want to say they are playing like a Loeffler team, I wouldn't argue it, but you have to understand why some are choosing to compare it to a Jinks led team. If you want to assume it's based on race... I guess that's your right.
Bottom line, our QB play, execution and overall play calling hasn't been good enough to win ball games.
The guy has been here for eight months and people are already comparing him to quite possibly the worst ever coach to grace the FBS. It's ridiculous. This season is more about Loeffler leaving and putting the program in an arduous position than anything Eddie will do. The QB play sucks because the guys Loeffler recruited never developed, and his QB transfers left after he resigned. Pyne showed up after spring ball. The facts matter in this situation. So yeah, it's a bit curious that the new black coach is being compared to the last one not even a full year into his time.
I'll stand by my opinion just like you stand by yours. I think it has less to do with the race of the coach than it does with the product on the field. All we have to go off of is what we have seen so far.
Yes, he has only been here for 8 months, and yes he was put into a tough situation. Again, if you were to compare how the team is currently playing, out of the last 4 coaches we've had before him, unfortunately, they are playing more like a Jinks coached team than any of the other 3. You don't have to agree, and I know you won't, but maybe take a step back and look at the whole picture to try and come to a more logical reason as to why the comparison is being made other than just blaming race. Unfortunately, right now, we can only base our opinion off of what we have seen thus far on the field. I'll reiterate, both Clawson and Babers played for MAC Championships. Coach George's team CURRENTLY is not at that level. So, out of Jinks and Loeffler, which one would you say the on field results are currently more like? I tend to see this team currently playing more like a Jinks coached team than a Loeffler coached one.
I'll give you some data for comparison.
Jinks era
2016 Offense points for 298, 24.8 ppg 97 of 128 4-8
2017 Offense points for 304, 25.3 ppg 90 of 130 2-10
2018 Offense points for 292, 24.3 ppg 99 of 130 3-9
Loeffler era
2019 Offense points for 192, 16 ppg 128 of 130 3-9
2021 Offense points for 257, 21.4 ppg 109 of 130 4-8
2022 Offense points for 305, 23.5 ppg 98 of 131 6-7
2023 Offense points for 340, 26.2 ppg 75 of 133 7-6
2024 Offense points for 352, 27.1 ppg 75 of 134 7-6
George era
2025 Offense points for 185, 18.5 ppg 125 of 136. 3-7
The last 3 yrs of Loeffler's time we averaged 25.6 ppg compared to 24.8 ppg under Jinks. If you want to look at numbers, our current offense is worse than both Jinks and Loeffler.
I will say though, I have FAR more confidence that he can turn it around than I ever did with Jinks or even Loeffler. When we look back after Coach George's time here is done, do I think he will still be compared to Jinks, no, because I EXPECT improvement. That said though, I understand why he is currently being compared to him, and in my opinion, it has zero to do with race and everything to do with current on field results.

People blamed Dino for Loeffler's first rough seasons...always found that to be suspect as well
As far as this one goes, everyone acknowledges that his lack of recruiting and basically leaving the cabinets bare on his departure. It was further compounded by Jinks. I understand the logic that was applied. Follow me here, the guys that should have been in that recruiting class would have been Seniors and would have been expected to be leaders in Loeffler's first season. So, while it might be a stretch to blame him completely, I can understand why some would have that train of thought since we didn't have much to build off of.
Lastly, I don't know why my reply triple posted. Wasn't my intention at all, I submitted it on a day the site seemed to be acting up and it just fired it off 3 separate times I guess. My apologies
