TE prospect Rick Solak of Youngstown Cardinal Mooney was at tonight's hockey game. The place was crawling with football assistants and their spouses. I think there were a few other kids there on visits, but Solak was the only one wearing a lettermen's jacket

We may not need him to play DT though....I think the kid with him and Bowers (the kid in the Notre Dame football jacket) was Trevor Frericks, a 6'1.5 255lb Dline prospect with a 4.9 40 (per Insiders). Per Insiders, Frericks visited Iowa last week, but has no other offers.

Our coaches like to recruit tight ends, redshirt them, and then move them to tackle or other OL position once they've added some weight. Makes for quick lineman, which is essential in spread offense. Jonathan Culp, #55, for example, was an all-conference TE and DE in high school.
