Awesome! I like that seats were left in the endzone, and the placement of foliage inside the stadium.

This will hurt but I got to say I was hoping for something that matches or incorporates the stadium. Even OSU made an addition "work" with the stadium. I sure hope I'm wrong but I can only imagine sitting in the stands and there would be a different building sitting in an endzone. One with elite people in the windows who don't have to intermix. What our stadium lacks is a close crowd atmosphere (Michigan) that this will not help. If an end was enclosed, that would really help noise levels.
My second thought is a heating and cooling money pit designed by an artist with an odd roof so it will leak like the Rec, Student Services bldg, and Moore M A bldgs. Then again, it does kind of resemble a Neo-Prairie, F L Wright Style.
God I hope it grows on me!

I think the statement being made is that the stadium should work with campus.

I think you've captured campus. The building really fits campus. The architect clearly put some thought into what our campus is about. And I like what he/she came up with.

Do you think those seats in the endzone are for the band? It'd be great if they had some type of permanent seating and didn't have to move around year-to-year!!
Oh, and lets hope our kickers can aim straight, don't have TOO strong of a leg, or they put a net up. Otherwise I'm seeing some broken glass laying around

That's a good point. "Intent" is the artist's best friend. Perhaps the roof is suppose to resemble the wind. The wind that will pick up speed as it becomes constricted around the open ends and sounds like a tea kettle. I think it could look good on its own, I would just like to enhance the stadium, atmosphere, decrease the wind tunnel, and increase noise. Those are concepts the artist didn't consider. As far as matching campus in any way, I'll keep trying. It definately clashes with the stadium and that will be the major criticism.
Plus I'm still stuck on the real reason we lost at the glass bowl. That endzone was loud. At least perhaps they could move it closer to the field.

No offense, but it's not like any buildings really match on campus. Old Campus may be the only group of buildings which look remotely similar. The stadium is a part of campus all it's own, so what they do with it doesn't neccessarily need to "match" the rest of campus.
I'm currently taking money to see how long it takes a UT fan to mention how there's so much glass in the building, that we're trying to be like them. I got 48 hours!

The building doesn't really match the Doyt. This is true.
But I don't believe SEBO is going to be the ONLY update to the stadium. I believe that SEBO is going to be the benchmark and not the acception.
Beautiful building, however. Just beautiful. I'm pretty excited.

Very true.
Put me down for $20 on Sunday eve by 10:00. By Monday some numbnut will say the whole idea of the building is copying them.
A New Vision

This was mentioned in a thread a while ago, but I will bring it up again. What we are seeing with the SAC seems to be the start of a major upgrade in our athletic facilities for all sports here at BGSU. Perhaps the design of the building to ment to be the cornerstone of the Doyt Perry Stadium of the future and not of the present and past. Plans may include replacing the sides of the stadium to include better facilities, rest rooms, concessions, etc. While the SAC may not fit well now, it may in 10 or 15 years. I also believe the seats should be for the band. It makes sence to have them in a position to play to the entire stadium while in the stands. That would be a good place for them. And I think nets are in orderas well. Just my thoughts.
Sac Design

Although I am against a new Convo on the BGSU campus, I hope they eventually build it to match the style of the new SAC. I would think it could look much like a smaller Gund Arena with the sweeping roof to match the design of the SAC's roof.
Overall, I was a little surprised at the design, but I am sure no matter what it actually looks like it will be very impressive for recruits, current students, and fans on gameday at the Doyt. In the end, I guess that is all that matters.
