They didn't really open the floor for questions, but all the coaches were milling around for awhile before the recruits were "announced" and for awhile after that (I presume...we took off right after the film to rescue the kid form the sitters).
I don't know if I would have asked that question anyway...the best answer you could hope to get would be "There's always some confusion in the process" or something along those lines, so why bother? I also wouldn't be inclined to ask a negative question during what amounts to a pep rally. But then, I'm a sycophant, so what do Iknow?

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
I looked through all the classes that were listed on ESPN.com and the LB who made the quote was not listed as signing with any team. Maybe he was never made an offer. Apparently, no one rushed to sign him after that. If he was as good as they were making him out to be on the recruiting sites, surely someone would have signed him. These recruiting services work a lot on word of mouth, even from the kid himself. Maybe he said he was talking to UCLA, BG, Arkansas, Texas A&M. They believed him, so he became a 3 star recruit.
Or maybe he was offered a scholarship and it was pulled. Hard to know what actually is the truth, though.
There was a story about that a few years ago about a HS basketball player in the northeast that was pumping himself up, saying he was offered by Duke and UNC... so all of a sudden he jumps up to 5 stars. Scouts came out to watch him and he was horrible, even his coach was quoted as saying he had division 3 talent at best, or something like that.
