Walk ons--Late Signees

Here and on other sites I've already seen references to walk ons/preferred walk ons.

Anthony Parkinson, OL from Springfield South is one. Apparently he received an academic scholarship.

Also mentioned was Martell Mallet, RB from Little Rock, Arkansas. Finally, reference was made to walk ons from Miami and New Jersey.

Can anybody give links or provide further information?

I haven't heard about any late signees and assume there are none.

Our coaching staff has shown a very good ability to "add" players to the roster, e.g., Simonton and Parques (sp?) last year.

Steve Simonton, Marques Parks, Martell Mallet, Matt Sinnreich, Don Sprenkel and Adrian Baker were with the team all season long.

Simonton #39, I believe is on scholarship and is a CC/JUCO transfer.

Marques Parks #86 is on scholarship and was picked up when Latkiewicz's condition was discovered.

Martell Mallett #43 is from Arkansas and from all guess-work appears to be a walk-on at RB

Matt Sinnreich #30(b) appears to be a walk-on from Miami Beach, FL at WR

Rob Smith, #39, walk-on DB from Chicago

Adrian Baker and Don Sprenkel, both #47, are both walk-ons at tight end and linebacker respectively. Baker is from New Jersey and Sprenkel is from Delray Beach, FL and attended Omar's HS.

Julian Shibley, #69 is a tall OL from Hudson

Andre Boomer, #81 a tight end from Warren Harding

Kyle Cox, #85 a DB from Virginia

#86(b) is Josh Waldman a tight end from Findlay LB.

All of these guys were on the team all season long

I hope Shibley pans out. I've heard good things about him...

I went to HS with Shibley actually. He was a big guy, and did a pretty good job for us back in HS. Nice to see him still playing
