Scary Moment...

I just wanted to let everyone know about a scary moment I had on Friday. I got a call from Corey's Mom. Apparently Corey was in a car accident out on Rt 25. He was the passenger in a car driven by one of his friends (non-player) when a girl pulled out in front of them. The air bags deployed and Corey was wearing his seat belt. He banged his knee into the dash and got a bloody nose from the air bag. The bad part is he is experiencing some neck pain and stiffness. This happened Thursday night.

Corey saw a doctor on Friday and wore a neck brace that day. I talked to him this morning and he was feeling pretty good. He wasn't wearing the neck brace and had gotten some physical therapy at the trainers office. He said his neck was very sore and stiff. I encourged him to take if very easy and slow as this could catch up to him later if he didn't get this neck thing straightened out and rehabbed in the correct manner. We all know how important a strong neck can be during contact in a football game.

I will keep you up to date on how he is doing. I hope it stays minor as it is now. Please keep Corey in your prayers so he can have a speedy recovery.

Thanks...

Scary moment for him and not the kind of call you want to get as a father. Thank God he was wearing his seatbelt and that no one was seriously injured. We'll be praying for a swift and complete recovery.

Glad to hear nothing immediately too serious. Impressive to also hear he had his seatbelt on. Hopefully the timing (off season) will mean he will get the PT and time and care needed to fully recover and not have any effects down the road..

Speed recovery to Corey and the others involved. Anything worse than this would've put a real damper on my 2-deep visions of next year! But I'm glad that this seems to be minor so far!

Here's hoping Corey gets back up to speed soon.

I hate Rt. 25 and refuse to drive it. I'll go up I-75 and then over to I-475. I had a friend killed during my freshman year of college as she was driving back to Toledo on Rt. 25.
