This is from the Plain Dealer's Roger Brown (so take it for what it is worth):
"Insiders say if Ohio State can convince either Paul Krebs (Bowling Green) or Debbie Yow (Maryland) to replace Andy Geiger as OSU's athletic director, its AD search will have been a roaring success. Krebs and Yow are highly regarded ADs at their respective schools."
Don't know anything about Yow, but a woman being considered brings an interesting perspective into this whole thing, I think.

Yow is widely known on the college ranks as a very innovative and savy administrator. The main claim to fame is that she refused to cut ANY sports to get Maryland into Title IX compliance. She cut corners on budgets and implemented fiscal responsibility accross the board in the Terps athletic department and money she saved by not having the football team sleep in hotels for home games saved programs like the men's tennis team.
She has a great attitude and wouldn't put up with too much crap in the Cowtown.

OSU AD?
While I would hate to lose Krebs, he's earned the right to "step up" in his chosen profession, even though I hate OSU more than anything. If I remember correctly, Yow has a twin sister (Kay?) and both were outstanding basketball players at one time. Sure would be interesting to see what she would do with OSU and its massive programs.

You are correct '61! Kay Yow is the sister to Debbie. She is the head coach at NC State and is a great lady.Class of 61 wrote:If I remember correctly, Yow has a twin sister (Kay?) and both were outstanding basketball players at one time.
Debbie Yow would be a great hire for OSWHo (but of course, Krebs would be a better hire because he's from BG).

Well said, O & B. I saw Paul outside the Union after the women's game Saturday and chatted with him for a few minutes. He has done such a great job here...and if he is offered the OSU job, so be it.orangeandbrown wrote:Well, I'm rooting for him to get it if he wants it. He's earned his shot. Obviously, I'd love to have him stay here forever, but if he wants to be in that arena, I wish him the best.
