Out of fairness to the Blundering Turd, let's give this a real look.

Their 2005 schedule includes UTEP, Tulane, Southern Miss, East Carolina, Memphis, Cincinnati. UTEP looked awful good last year; USM was a top 25 team for much of last year; Cincy, though I wasn't terribly impressed, was a bowl team and appears to be improving; we all know what Memphis is capable of. Tulane and East Carolina stink.

Their 2004 MAC schedule included Miami, Ohio, Kent State, Buffalo, Akron, BG and Western Michigan.

Miami won the division, BG had a great year and Akron had a winning record. Ohio was, at best, below averge while Buffalo and Western Michigan were terrible.

Have to say their 2005 schedule looks better. BTW, Marshall played five bowl-bound teams in 2004 (Troy, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, BG), in addition to bowl-eligible Akron.

As for William & Mary, let's not forget our recent tussles with SEMO State, Liberty and Eastern Kentucky.

As tough as they are individually, think how mean they are when they are together.

And lost to all of them but Miami. 1-4 vs. Bowl teams, 1-5 if you count Cincinnati. Beat up on the weaklings and came up short against quality competition. Sounds awfully "Clarett-esque."

So not counting the win vs. Miami, they beat Ohio (4-7), Kent (5-6) , Buffalo (2-9), UCF (0-11). and WMU (1-10). A combined record of 12-43. If this were the NCAA hoops tourney, they'be be staying home.

If you re-read my post, I don't think you'll find any attempt on my part to say they did well against their schedule, nor that they had a great team. I am merely commenting on their schedule.

At least we have no 63-14 or 63-21 losses out of those 3 losses like that team up north....maybe we should have and Brandon would have received coach of the year in Ohio instead of fatso. I keep telling people eventually they will turn his headset on so he can hear what's going on and get it off of 92.5 FM.

Playing William & Mary is really like playing a lower 1-A team. They went very deep in the 1-AA playoffs, and nearly beat North Carolina at the beginning of last season, and they went on to a bowl so.
