My first impression is that hockey must be killing us since the our overall average is well below the results listed for the four "major" sports. Well, I guess it doesn't have to be hockey. It could be volleyball or gymnastics or something, but hockey comes to mind first when thinking about the number of athletes involved.

Experiment with the (code) tag. You'll get monospaced text with that.(Please excuse all the underscores... it was the only way I could figure out how to get the spacing halfway decent lol...)
Website
Every school in the country has a report in .pdf form at www.ncaa.org
You may want to go over there and check it out. Several teams at BGSU have perfect scores including volleyball, baseball, women's golf and tennis and some others I cannot remember at the moment.
By the way, the NCAA has already aknowledged that there are errors in these reports due to a lack of information. For instance one of the EMU teams was given a zero because the report was based on only one student athlete when the team has over twenty (I cannot remember the sport for sure, but it may have been track).
Here is the link to the BGSU report:

Assuming you mean the men -- perhaps this is a hint of why the last coach got the bums rush with little explanation?PGY Tiercel wrote:Ice hockey has a great score 988. However CC had a 750, proving you don't have to be bright to run a straight line. Soccer had an 844, I was hoping that extra academic acheivement was responsible for their record this year. OH well. glad to see so many other sports doing well.
Pure conjecture on my part.

That too could be an anomoly, because I am very bright but can't run a straight line to save my life!PGY Tiercel wrote:However CC had a 750, proving you don't have to be bright to run a straight line.

BTW, guess where OSU's and Toledo's football teams rank on this list nationally. Well, OSU is 10th from the bottom and Toledo is 4th from last place.

If that is the case at MTSU, then let em' go to CUSA or the Sun Belt. I don't care how good they are on the field, the MAC is already carrying enough academic dead weight with Toledo.UK Peregrine wrote:BTW, guess where OSU's and Toledo's football teams rank on this list nationally. Just kidding Toledo fans. Well....sort of...

The Dispatch made one mistake on their report. They swapped the cumulative scores of Marshall and Miami. We had the 986 instead. We came in 2nd in the NCAA and Ball State came in 4th. This mistake has already been reported to the Dispatch.
Did one really think that Marshall would do that well? Your Toledo, our Marshall. We hate em.

Hmm, seems the Dispatch made a lot of mistakes, because while the ncaa website does have Miami at the 986, they have Marshall at 947, not 924, so it's not just a straight switch...
Ah well, I'll just switch 'em anyway. It is Marshall after all.
Above post edited accordingly.
