Matt was at the basketball game tonight to cheer on the Falcons. Anybody know if he is still officially off the team? Any chance that he will be back for next fall?

Thanks for pointing that out, SF. When word that Crossley was out hit the boards, it seemed that most folks shrugged their shoulders and basically said, "he wasn't all that." But IMO he was one of the best we had on d-line; this is a guy who averaged six sacks over his three years, including and incredible 9 in 2003.Schadenfreude wrote:I'm terrified of the situation.kdog27 wrote: Personally I don't like the way our d line is looking next year.
Haven't we lost Mitchell Crossley, too? (I've read previous posts, but he is still listed on our roster).
I watched the GMAC Bowl this weekend -- Crossley was all over the place.
As for 2005, there are many questions marks on defense, particularly the backfield and the line. For the latter, we've lost Crossley, Leininger and Thaler. Taking off the orange & brown glasses, that's not a lot to be encouraged about

I wouldn't call it definitive proof, but Nationchamps.net finally has Mitchell marked down as declared to going pro.kdog27 wrote:I believe Crossley is gone too but I never read anything that said this for sure. Everyone acted like it was a given that he was gone but I never any proof.

I've read conflicting things on Lenanger...leinenger...that kid over on JJ huddle. One poster says he's sitting this year and will return in 2006 (assuming he has no further problems). Another says he's putting BG in the rearview mirro and heading to Cowtown to play for the Bucks. I guess down there he'd be viewed as one of the better behaved players.
As for Crossley, he'll be missed. (Of that there can be no doubt). However, we have Briggs, Schaefer and Mack ready to step in.
The spring game will be interesting this year. We have some holes to fill and the guys were counting on are highly regarded but largely unproven.

Agreed on the spring game. We'll need several players to step up on defense if we're going to make a run for the MAC title we are all expecting.Flipper wrote:As for Crossley, he'll be missed. (Of that there can be no doubt). However, we have Briggs, Schaefer and Mack ready to step in.
