I gotta give HUGE ups on Omar Jacobs being named Second Team All American. I said it over on our board, and I'll say it here. If Jacobs comes back for his senior campaign, he will be THE top quarterback in the nation, and you guys will have every right to push him for the Heisman. He impressed me more on that rainy night in Mobile, Alabama than any other quarterback I've seen in person in the last several years, and that's INCLUDING Eli Manning. We had a First Team and Third Team All American ourselves, with DeAngelo Williams and our kicker, Stephen Gostkowski.
As far as I'm concerned, Bowling Green is a friend of Memphis, and I truly, truly hope to meet you guys again somewhere down the road.
GO TIGERS!!!!
GO FALCONS!!!!
Guys, I had to drop by and give props...

HLT: Sorry we missed you in Mobile. You guys are a class act, though. Thanks for stopping by again. Here's hoping Memphis brings home the C-USA title this year!HornLakeTiger wrote:I gotta give HUGE ups on Omar Jacobs being named Second Team All American. Thanks for the kind words. The feeling is mutual. I met many great Tigers fans in Mobile.HornLakeTiger wrote:As far as I'm concerned, Bowling Green is a friend of Memphis, and I truly, truly hope to meet you guys again somewhere down the road.
DeAngelo is returning, right? Glad we aren't on your schedule next year.

That trip and those fans will be one of my greatest college memories, especially the band TA we met after the game at Hero's. That guy cracked me up. Not so fond of the drive back, however...

You mean 21 hours on a band bus isn't your idea of a good time?
I agree though. The GMAC trip was one of the best times I've ever had, and a good portion of it because of how daggone nice the Memphis fans were. Four orange-and-brown friends and I had dinner the night before the game in a restaurant filled to the brim with blue-and-gray.... and we didn't get a single unfriendly glance or comment, then or ever.
Can we do it again next year??? (Only, maybe we'll change up the weather a bit...)
