If you look quickly before they change the page, you can see the BG ticket for the BG/OU game pictured on ESPN's front page for college football as part of the behind OU football feature.

If you click on the linke "Norman to host a big party" or something like that, it is an article that discusses some of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on. A line I thought was cool was . . .
"Thjey make sure the band knows the BOwling Green fight song as the Falcons band cannot make the trip"
Something I saw done at Navy in 91 that I thought was very cool.

as the Falcons band cannot make the trip
I know the reason(s) for this, but it always makes me sad.

this thought struck my after looking at the ticket: Why is it "OU" for the "University of Oklahoma"? I posed this question to the Sooner faithful at:

I was in Lawrence, KS for a workshop about a week ago. Every calls it KU, but they also refer to it as The University of Kansas. Maybe it's a Plains State thing.

I think that is correct. If you look at a lot of the Big 12 schools, that do it backwards: OU, MU, NU, KU, CU. I think they made a pact when they formed the Big 8.

'87 did you make it to the Free State Brewery for dinner or some good micro brew?? I have a t -shirt from there that has a falcon on the front and a quote on the back from a Kansas priest circa 1800s "because without beer, things do not seem to go as well"
I love Lawrence.

We've always said OU. It's intrinsic to our nature. You might as well ask us why we find it necessary to debate the issue of nug control.
