We will gladly drink your beer, Fat tire is an excellent choice. I however won't be making the trip, so maybe we can have that beer in 2006 when you all come to BG.

I plan to be there. What's the weather typically like in late Sept.? I try to do these early season road trips on my motorcycle.

September is awesome. Temps in the 80's and 90's daytime with little to no humidity. Nightime temps in the 50's-60's.

...maybe we don't always succeed, but our overall tone in the message forums is pretty positive. (Except the smack forum, and that's what it's for, to keep the jabs reasonable on the regular boards.
Looking forward to seeing more of you over on our forums as FB season gets closer.
Rival?

Possibly BG and Boise could make this an annual thing and make a good rivalry out of it. Two quality mid-major programs with a lot to offer.

Rivalries take time to come about and cannot be manufactured. They are the result of years of heated words, close contests, and bouts of frustration ebbing and flowing between the two contestants. Obviously, geography can also come into the equation.
Our strongest rivlary is obviously Toledo and our secondary rivilary is Miami. The past few years had been a perfect start to initiating a rivalry with NIU, but that may never happen now since we won't play them in the regular season until 2007! While we could still meet them in the next two years if they can ever figure out a way to beat UT, it might still not be enough to achieve rivalry status...the example being the hit our rivalry with Miami has taken just not being in the same division as them. Heck, we have even started being somewhat nice to eachother on the fourms!
The point being....it takes quite a bit to form a rivalry and we haven't even played BSU yet....EVER! Let's play our home and home with them and see how it goes. Maybe it will be considered a success by both schools and we could get another home and home signed, but even then I doubt we could consider it a rivalry.
I do agree that this series is bound to be exciting and the over/under should be off the charts! Let's just not get WAY ahead of oursevles and start designating school's on the otherside of the country as a rival.

Should be a fun game. Not expecting many punts.
Boiseball:
On a side note, your bball venue seems to host a lot of NCAA tourney games through the years. Your arena must be nice.

You know, I am still upset about that lame-o call that robbed you guys in the Miami game 2 years ago. I was seriously shouting at the TV over it, that was horrible!
Yeah, our arena is a good facility, and we're on the western rotation to host the sub-regionals every 4 years, along with Utah and a couple of other schools...
The whole Taco Bell sponsorship thing caused a silly debate. Personally, I don't care who name-sponsors facilities at Universities, everyone's going through huge budget crunch issues and it's getting near impossible to get general fund monies to subsidize athletic programs at D-1 schools. Money is money and those checks from Taco Bell or whomever else help provide the scholarships, facilities maintenance and other funds needed to keep the pundits in the State Capitol here from freaking out about academic appropriations any worse than they already do.
Jury is out on the painting of the floor, too. Personally, I liked the previous floor, but that may be because it was eerily similar to one we did some polls on in comparison on broncocountry.com (...a little market research, if you will... the winning design was forwarded by us to the A.D.'s office with a recommendation.)
Here is the current floor (easier to see here than on TV... the Bronco heads looked a little wierd zoomed in inside the key...)

Unfortunately, it would have taken a whale of a lot more to actually beat Miami in '03.
That Roethlisberger turned out to be pretty good.

I didn't mean to sound ignorant there, I just meant we should play this series for more than a one and one. Keep it going. It's hard to get good teams on the schedule year in and year out. Just look at BG's records against non-conference opponents. It's full of teams that we've only played two or three times.

Its because we beat them (or push them to the wire at their house) and they run away with their tails between their legs. Or they are like South Florida who renig on their half of the home and home. Wow, we really would have stomped them this year with how their team seems to have gone to crap. Its such a joke that they are now in a BCS conference.
